2009 Lexus GS

Trim: GS 300
by CAR2071 on 07-31-2017
It's a very efficient vehicle
it's nice and comfortable. I went in expecting to purchase a used vehicle. I didn't even want to consider a new vehicle thinking it was out of my price range. Dave Sosnowski took the time to give me all of my options and was never pushy. I ended up getting a brand new car that I LOVE and can afford. He even took the time to make sure I knew how everything worked and was set up properly as far as connecting the blue tooth with my phone, etc. I highly recommend. It was worth the hour drive to get there.

2007 Lexus GS

Trim: GS 450 HYBRID Premium
by Paul-6698 on 10-29-2015
Stylish, fast and economical
This was my first Lexus and was I happy I choose the hybrid. This is a luxury car with all the usual options and then some. This Lexus drives like a track car with the economy of a small car. Highway driving, it is fantastic on fuel, getting over 650k's to the tank. You do not even feel when the hybrid system cuts in and out. Such a smooth transition. The heated and cooled front leather seats are great for all seasons. I did notice a difference for the better in using summer tires over all season tires, so I bought a set of winter tires and rims as well to go along with the summer tires. This Lexus has been a dream to drive.
The only negative about this hybrid is you need to use Premium fuel, which actually burns cleaner saving wear and tear on the internal fuel combustion system, but with the milage you get, thats a great trade off.

2006 Lexus GS

Trim: GS 430
by DeanZ on 09-19-2015
A very Comfortable Luxury car that Handles Like a Sports Car
I have owned this vehicle since 2008, I purchased it used with 40,000 Klms. It is now over 130,000 Klms and the only things I have done are oil and filter changes and one set of new tires. Absolutely nothing else has required attention.

The car has great torque and passing power, 90 to 140 Klm/h happens VERY quickly. On twisty roads in the mountains it is nice to have the passing power and it will corner with BMWs, Audis, Corvettes and other daily driver type sports cars. It is far more comfortable for 1000 klm days than the Audi or BMW and the Corvette doesn't even come close to the ride comfort of the other three.

The naturally aspirated V8 is a great motor, too bad it is now only available in the LS version. It was a great blend in the sportier GS. I will keep this car forever as it is the best combination of 4 door sport cruiser I have ever found short of a Bentley. The Bentley costs far more to purchase and maintain and won't give you 25 mpg in town and highway of up to 32 mpg at 120 Klm/h, like the GS 430 will.

2008 Lexus GS

So few made, so wonderful to own
From 2008 to 2011 (total number made less than 1800) this has got to be one of the best / highest quality vehicles ever made. I've owned countless Toyotas and Volvos since 1978 -- 4x4, AWD, turbo and performance. The Lexus GS460 (I am the 2nd owner) is amazing. No problem in Winter -- select "snow" and make sure you have good tires -- the intelligent traction etc. is superb. Performance tires for Spring, Summer and Fall -- everything is a total pleasure. ALWAYS great fuel mileage, handling, performance, comfort ... everything works ... A/C is excellent ... seats are extremely comfortable (for an old guy like me!). The GS450h is also very good. Buy either, used, if you can.

Could this get any better?
I've been on the road for more than 40 years, with many Toyotas of every description, plus many Volvos. Got the 2008 Lexus GS460 used, with just 66,000 KM (44,000 miles). This is the best yet. Last car was a 2004 Volvo V70R M66. Loved it, but everything about the Lexus is better EXCEPT for the AWD (duh!). Regardless, the Lexus is fabulous in bad weather, excellent fuel mileage, great handling, superb braking, all the creature comforts. Reliability record is unsurpassed. CANNOT RECOMMEND MORE HIGHLY. If you can find a "series 3" V8 GS460 -- BUY IT NOW!

A 28 MPG Rocket Ship
This car has proven to be the best car that I have ever owned. BY FAR. It is rock solid reliable, a blast to drive, fast, quiet and "tossable" for over 2 ton car. Fun in town and great on the highway.

The weight of very large battery in the truck provides a nicely balanced car and gives added traction for the rear wheels in bad weather.

Show me another car that can seat five comfortably, does 0-60 in under 5.5 seconds and gets over 25 MPG in town.

Other then the useless trunk this would be a perfect car.

Luxurious yet subtle
Owned this for over 3 years now, and love it. Super silent, smooth and very powerful ride. It looks different from boring BMWs, Mercs, Audis....etc..It's powerful engine blows smoke at arrogant drivers, showing off their "sporty" looking cars on any streets. Love the look on their face when they struggle to keep my tail pipes in sight.

Best ride that I can afford right now!
This car is the best, with the cost of 70,000 dollars. Cheap and easy to ride. My kids love it, and it's the best car I can have. But what bothers me is that it takes alot of fuel even though It's a Hybrid..

Fuel Efficient
I wanted to get on the bandwagon and be more eco-friendly however I am having some doubts about this car, I purchased it in 2011 and although it has great mileage the design, comfort, and durability of the car itself has left a lot to be desired. I've owned a Lexus is the past and have been very happy but this hybrid is a bit of a disappointment, now I know why everyone rips on them, Bring me a hybrid that actually runs and feels like a care for 42k and I'll eat my show.

2007 Lexus GS

Trim: GS 350 AWD
by JerseyTO on 11-08-2012
Love the Lexus reliability & performance
Been a long time Lexus owner starting with a SC400, GS400, and finally 2007 GS350 AWD. I am completely sold on the Lexus reliability, performance, safety, luxury and customer service.

I do a lot of Northeast driving and the RWD+Snow can be a dangerous mix at times. Letting go of the GS400 was tough because I wanted the power but needed the AWD capabilities. Compared GS350, BMW 535xi and Audi A6. All good cars but the perfect balance was with the Lexus.

Total ownership approx 4 years and extremely very happy with purchase. There were some minor issues come up with the dash creaking, valve spring recall but the dealership took care of me promptly. Even received a $500 compensation for my troubles NOW that's LEXUS :)

PROS:
Performance, 300HP need I say more?
AWD: Good AWD system and able to maneuver the car quite effortlessly in the snow. Its not a SUV obviously but very good traction control system.
Interior\Exterior design best in class
One of the best Navigation out there.

CONS:
Personal preference I liked the older Lexus leather and seating. Those were like couches but I get the new trend with vented seats etc etc.
Tape Deck and lack of Aux input? Really?!?! Come on Lexus take the audio section out of Infiniti's chapter book.

One of the best used luxury sedans on market , if not the best
Great car overall. Small issues do arise such as cabin noise, and loud engine due to the direct injection engine. But you get a great looking car, fast, and extremely comfortable. Fuel Economy is around 11 L / 100 km,

2007 Lexus GS

Trim: GS 350 AWD Ultra Premium Package
by GS350TO on 10-26-2012
Most reliable, high-performing and unique option in this segment
Exterior Design:
When this car came out, a lot of critics slammed it for looking boring. Perhaps compared to the schizophrenic 5-Series of this model-year range it looks boring, but in reality it is a well-balanced and even aggressive design.

However, Lexus did make a few curious decisions with the styling. They included a very large, ugly hub on the rear brake discs in order to house the emergency brake. The wheel gap is too large, especially on the AWD model. For that reason I've only given the car 4/5 stars for exterior styling.

Interior Design & Comfort:
This car is second to none in the segment. Some of the competitors' offerings may feature a few more options but when considering the overall package, the Lexus GS is the clear winner.

Performance:
This car has impressive power and torque at all RPMs. The engine is extremely quiet, but can produce a nice roar when opening the throttle.

The electronically controlled 6-speed sequential automatic transmission is a pretty solid offering from Lexus but fails to really inspire from a performance perspective. That is to say, it can put the power down adequately, but it doesn't have that sporty feeling you get from many of the fancy double-clutching, rev-matching German offerings when you're quickly shifting gears. Thankfully, while it could be a better transmission, it rarely gets in the way.

The suspension is too soft for spirited driving. This could be rectified by adding F-Sport suspension (while also getting rid of the awful wheel-gap) but it would sacrifice ride quality which I'm thankful for on my city's rough roads.

Fuel Economy:
Expect 8-9L/100km on the highway @ ~120km/h. Spirited city driving 13-14L/100km.

Reliability:
This car is not known to have major mechanical or electrical issues. This is my second Lexus and that has been my experience - superb reliability, and anything else handled with enthusiasm and professionalism at the dealership.

2006 Lexus GS

Trim: GS 300 AWD
by thinksimple on 10-12-2012
Smooth Operator
Ironically, all of the things that should go wrong on a car like this have not, but there have been tons of random odds and ends that have failed. Over the past 2 years, the car has racked up nearly $6000 in both scheduled maintenance and unexpected repairs. However, I feel that my car is an anomaly from the quality and reliability people come to expect from Lexus.

Pros:
- Car is unbelievably smooth and quiet
- Capable, extremely reliable engine
- Well-appointed interior
- Plenty of electronic gadgets & gizmos (all of which work as intended to boot)

Cons:
- Averages 11-12L/100k in the city
- Squeaky dashboard (known issue for all 3GS models)
- Spotty reliability on obscure parts of car: Steering ECU failed, had to replace 3/4 wheel hub assemblies, AFS sensor needed to be replaced
- Lacks personality

Overall, the car has been flawless mechanically (engine + drivetrain) and the interior electronics are still all going strong. However, some of the smaller, less-recognized parts of the car leave much to be desired in terms of reliability.

Overall, it's been a good car, but not great. I could overlook the flaws if the car had more personality.
