Model Overview
Mini's first crossover model arrived in 2011 bearing the Countryman name. If any vehicle puts the "sport" in a subcompact sport utility vehicle, this is it. A JCW variant turns this car into a British bulldog on wheels, with speed and handling uncommon in a small utility. In 2019, the Countryman became Mini's first hybrid, offering a plug-in powertrain. On certain vehicles, the year of manufacture listed on the compliance label is incorrect. Canadian regulations require the month and year of the vehicle's date of manufacture to be listed on the compliance label.
Safety Risk:
This error could cause confusion when trying to identify the model year of the vehicle using the compliance label.
Corrective Actions:
BMW will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to install a corrected compliance label.

Issue:
On certain Plug-In Hybrid Electric Vehicles (PHEV), weld beads may not have been removed from the high voltage battery during assembly. As a result, during the initial charge to at least 80% of capacity, the weld beads could cause a short circuit between the battery cells.
Safety Risk:
A short circuit could create the risk of a fire.
Corrective Actions:
BMW will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealer to inspect the high voltage battery. The battery modules will be replaced, if necessary.
Note: Only one of the affected vehicles was sold to a retail customer. Dealers will inspect and repair all other vehicles before they are sold.
