For 2011, the Kia Sportage is completely redesigned. Previously available with a choice of a four-cylinder or V6, it now comes with a naturally-aspirated or turbocharged four-cylinder engine and in four trim lines.
The Sportage uses a naturally-aspirated 2.4-litre four-cylinder engine in LX, EX and EX Luxury trim, and a turbocharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder in the SX. The LX uses a six-speed manual transmission that can be optioned to a six-speed automatic, which is used in all other models. The LX with manual transmission is front-wheel drive only. The LX with automatic and the EX can be optioned with all-wheel drive, while the EX Luxury and the SX are all-wheel drive only.
Features on the LX include 16-inch alloy wheels, air conditioning, fog lights, heated mirrors with integrated turn signals, privacy glass, automatic headlamps, variable intermittent wipers, windshield de-icer, rear wiper, hill start assist, black grille with silver-coated garnish, front and rear mud guards, heated cloth seats, active front head restraints, 60/40 split-folding rear seat, metal grain interior accents, keyless entry, cruise control, driver’s auto-down window, CD/MP3 stereo with auxiliary and USB ports, Sirius satellite radio, steering wheel-mounted audio controls, Bluetooth connectivity, and tilt steering wheel. The automatic-equipped model also includes roof rails, illuminated vanity mirrors and an Eco-Minder indicator.
The EX adds 17-inch alloy wheels, dual-zone automatic climate control, LED daytime running lights, solar control windshield, black grille with chrome garnish, premium cloth seats, power driver’s seat, driver’s auto up/down window, iPod cable, leather-wrapped tilt and telescopic steering wheel, rear parking sonar, trip computer, auto-dimming rearview mirror, cargo cover, and cargo net.
The EX Luxury adds 18-inch alloy wheels, power tilt and sliding panoramic sunroof, rear spoiler, leather upholstery, ventilated driver’s seat, rearview camera, deluxe door scuff, and smart key with pushbutton start.
The SX adds 18-inch sport alloy wheels, sport grille, sport fascia and bumpers, dual exhaust, navigation system, super-vision instrument cluster, and cooled glovebox.
