Following last year’s equipment overhaul, Nissan’s half-ton pickup carries over for 2014 without any changes. Although the Titan is the oldest of the full-size trucks on the market, it offers buyers looking for a basic and reliable truck standard V8 power and strong performance.
Unlike rivals which offer a plethora of powertrain choices, all Titans come with a 5.6-litre V8 engine, shared with the Armada and Pathfinder, mated to a five-speed automatic transmission. 4x2 models are rear-wheel drive, with 4x4 as an option. The King Cab has two small rear-hinged doors that open 168 degrees, while the Crew Cab has four independently-opening doors.
The Titan is available in King Cab or Crew Cab configuration. The King comes in S trim in 4x2; SV in 4x2 and 4x4; PRO-4X in 4x4; and SL in 4x4. It has a 6'7" bed. The Crew Cab is 4x4 only, and comes in S; SV in short- or long-wheelbase; PRO-4X; and SL trim. The short bed length is 5'7", the long bed is a whopping 7'3".
