Dodge Challenger SRT Demon is Finally Unleashed

It's the second week of November, and temperatures across the country are nearing double digits below zero. Which makes it the perfect time for Dodge to start delivering the 840 hp Demon to dealers.

With the start of Demon delivery upon us, Dodge has revealed some more goodies that are going to the 3,300 lucky buyers of the 6.2L supercharged V8-powered car (300 in Canada). Like a leather-bound track tech manual written by the editors of Hot Rod. There is also a Demon Authentication Package for $1 that comes with a carbon-fibre Certicard. That's a throwback to the original Certicards that were used from 1966 to 1968 for dealers to identify the car's option codes. The pack includes 12 individual build sheets that track each car's production and are sealed in an archive portfolio.

Dodge is also offering Demon licensed parts like a Speedlogix harness bar and a Demon exclusive Racelogic VBOX Video GPS data logger and in-car camera system. The logger can measure standard quarter mile time and speeds, including 60-foot times, g-force readings from launch, and wheel slip. All things to make the car go faster and look great on YouTube.

All of those come on top of the Demon crate that delivers extra power and skinny drag race front tires along with Demon branded tire change tools.

If you're worried about the effects of 840 hp and ice-cold drag radials, you aren't alone. Dodge announced that it is offering a Street Tire Package that adds an extra set of 20-inch wheels and Pirelli 305/35 tires. Those tires are all-season rated. But we still wouldn't recommend trying them in real cold, snow, or ice. They are a much better option for driving to and from the track before fitting your drag radial tires.

With the Demon starting its journey to dealers today, the car should start terrorizing local drag strips soon. If they're still open for the season.
