Plug-In Range Rover Sport Confirmed For Canada, and 2018 prices

Land Rover Canada has confirmed a plug-in hybrid (PHEV) version of the Range Rover Sport, its first-ever hybrid model, will go on sale here next summer, when it will wear updated styling being introduced now to gasoline-powered models for 2018.
Prices have risen to reflect new tech features as well, says the British luxury SUV manufacturer. Those include a new dual-screen infotainment system, a sunroof visor that responds to hand gestures and a trailer reversing assistant that does the steering work while the driver aims the trailer using the truck's Terrain Response system dial.

Pricing now begins at $78,800 for the V6-powered SE model, a bump of $1,800, while the top-trim SVR, with an extra 25 hp (for 575 total) now goes for $132,000. Diesel-powered variants carry MSRPs of $80,800 in SE trim and $85,800 as the HSE, and the 518-hp HSE V8 model sells at $97,700.

Land Rover hasn't priced the PHEV, which arrives in summer 2018 as a 2019 model, with the ability to travel up to 50 km on a fully charged battery. The Range Rover Sport PHEV is the first in Land Rover's stated commitment to offer each of its model lines with a hybrid powertrain option by 2020.
