Only a year after refreshing their sporty midsizer, Mazda has introduced the updated 2017 Mazda6 with some significant improvements and changes. The new car adds G-Vectoring Control, which is a system that makes adjustments to engine torque to transfer weight forward when turning and improve steering response. If you have a habit of lifting just before entering a turn to shift weight forward, it's like that, but in the computer.
Also new is improved sound insulation. Mazda has improved the door seals, closed panel gaps, and has thicker front glass to help quiet the car.
All models now get a rear-view camera, GS gains navigation and improved blind spot monitoring. A heated steering wheel is new and standard on GS and GT. GT models replace the old microwave green head-up display with a full-colour model and gain a 4.6-inch display screen in the dash as well as traffic sign recognition. GT Technology adds lane-keep assist to the list of active safety features.
The 2017 car gains a GT Premium pack which gets Nappa leather seating surfaces with contrasting titanium-coloured piping, a black headliner, special steering wheel stitching, and satin chrome interior trim.
The 2017 Mazda6 arrives at dealers this month.
