2013 Ford Fusion

by beachb0y on 09-20-2013
Love this Sedan!
The new design caught my attention the second I saw it on the Ford website. It's modern, sporty and attractive. The car handles superbly and you have a good feel for the road. Packed with electronics and creature comforts the interior has tons of room for driver and even amazing legroom for passengers in the back. I bought this car for my mom and dad, not because they are boring drivers (to the contrary actually), but because this is a great car that they will enjoy and feel safe in. Nine months in and we still love this car and its reliability. And surprisingly, service and oil change costs are very low.

2014 Porsche Carrera GT

Thought out and refined...
Turn off the traction control, the automatic engine cutoff, set it to sport mode and take the controls away from the automatic by using the paddle shifters and this car shows its true potential. One of my all-time favorite sports cars that you can take grocery shopping (which I do all the time). This one beats the Audi R8 in my mind, because it handles tighter, has more attitude and more space inside (R8 has an annoying and seriously confining door handle bar on the drivers side). This car is so well thought out and refined I drive it as much and as often as I can.

2013 Mercedes-Benz E-Class

Trim: E350

An all-round good Luxury Sedan
I had a chance to rent this car for three months and I was pleasantly surprised. At first I thought the 350 would be under-powered, but unless you're Michael Schumacher this engine has enough power for the average driver. Very comfortable and spacious interior and the handling and responsiveness you would expect from a German car, but less sporty than a BMW. The automatic transmission is a bit jerky and didn't like my lead foot - sometimes it felt like it didn't know what it wanted to do. But its looks gets you the attention you desire and your family will enjoy that they have room for all their stuff. This is a touring sedan that does good in the city and really makes the miles melt away on long-distance drives.

2011 Mercedes-Benz CLK-Class

Trim: CLK550

One word... Lemon!
As much as I like this car from a styling, design and performance it completely let me down. Constant problems with the electronics, sensors and what not. I had the engine stall in the middle of the intersection because the car thought it was overheating, I had a leaky roof that seeped water through the seal on the driver side. Maybe it was just this car, but the experience has put me off buying a convertible from MB. If you must have a MB, go for the E-Class Sedan , I was pleasantly surprised by it.

2013 Ford Mustang

Trim: GT 500

All time favorite sports car...
I'm German, so when I say that the Shelby GT 500 is my favorite sports of all time that means a lot. This car packs so much fun and punch for the price that it can't get any better for an American muscle car. An engine that has so much raw power an torque, it slams you into the seats and puts even a Porsche to shame (on a straight line that is). A classic, yet mean look that tells any BMW or Mercedes driver you mean business. But it still has all the comforts we are used to from a Ford Mustang like heated seats, killer A/C, a sound system with an amazing base (do yourself a favor, get the Shaker 1000), heated seats and SYNC.

2012 Ford Focus

Trim: SE 5 Door Hatchback

Great Car for the City
I go from a Shelby GT 500 to a Ford Focus on a regular basis and even though they are worlds apart you still get great Ford reliability, style and creature comforts. Tons of space for both passengers and luggage, a bit weak on the engine, but great feeling on the road, responsive steering and suspension makes this one of my favorite city driving cars. I have the manual transmission and gear changes are easy, although the spring in the clutch can give you a sore leg in heavy traffic. Ford SYNC that links your phone and iElectronics is probably one of the most user friendly in the industry and makes this a fun car with a purpose.

2006 Bentley Continental GT

Trim: Mulliner

Awesome....but
This car is awesome, amazing styling, endless power and highly custom interiors. If only they hadn't used the dash, electronics and even warning sounds of the VW Touareg - severely disappointing after spending this much on a car. At least reliability has gone up significantly with German engineering. But that's a good things because regular service intervals can quickly cost you $5k per visit. And you can literally see the fuel tank needle move in quick city driving. All that said, I would buy it again...
