Even with the stock all-terrain tires, this vehicle is extremely off-road capable. When the rubber wears out and I have to put on new tires, more aggressive mud tires will allow me to go virtually anywhere. A friend has a TJ with 4" lift and is only about 1" taller than my stock JK. Word of advice: "Be sure NOT to order the 3:23 gears" I have the 6-speed std and fuel economy is acceptable enough to have 3:73 or even aftermarket 4:10 gears. The new JK with the 3.6L pentastar engine (available from 2012-on) is more powerful and even better on fuel than the 3.8L. Creature comforts like heated seats and satellite radio make this an incredible buy. On road comfort is surprisingly smooth for a 2 door Jeep. The 4 door (although not a true Jeep IMO) would have an even smoother ride.
