Ford Taurus 1986-2016Change

This Taurus was a hand-me-down vehicle. We took it over when it was 10 years old and had 180,000 km on it. Over the next 2 years we had to do several repairs like a new rear anti-sway bar, new power steering pump, new fuel pump and a new rear springs.

The vehicle was comfortable enough to drive, but the pushrod 3.0 L V6 was underpowered for size of the vehicle and by this age the four-speed automatic transmission was very jerky; especially between 1st and 2nd gear.

The vehicle did seat six though and had ample space in the trunk.

This was my first vehicle and it was a piece of junk while it lasted. The gasket kept getting blown and anti-freeze leaked from everywhere. The repair cost me more than what it was worth. Never again will I buy another Ford. Bad experience. As this say FORD = Fix Or Repair Daily

I should specify that I am reviewing the Ford Taurus SEL. I am not a car junkie or anything so don't expect this to be a technical review! I am a second owner and have had to do very little to the car. I've put on roughly 100,000 kms in the two years I've owned the car and have had to replace the front breaks. There is a bit of rust above one wheel, but it was like that when I got it, so I'm unsure of the cause. It's a really comfortable car, I do a lot of hwy. 401 driving for long distances, and a lot of driving up to cottage country, so the roominess is nice! Passengers often comment on the leg space and comfort! I transport a lot of stuff in the trunk as well, and am quite happy with the trunk space! I hope this helps :)
