The Toyota Tundra is a full-size pickup truck that is one of the Japanese brand's largest vehicles. Toyota introduced the Tundra for the 2000 model year to replace the T100 model. The Tundra was designed in 2007 and received styling updates in 2014 and 2018.
What's New / Key Changes from Last Year
Toyota has two new Premium trims for 2020, both building on the Tundra's existing TRD Sport and TRD Pro packages. These new optional configurations add leather seats and steering wheel, dual-zone automatic climate control, blind spot monitor with rear cross traffic alert and a spray-in bed liner.
Toyota has also added an SX appearance package for the CrewMax model.
All Tundra trims also now include Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and a Connected Services by Toyota suite.
The only deletion for 2020 is a 4.6L engine offered last year in a single, entry-level 4x4 trim.
The sole 4x2 Tundra is the Double Cab long-bed model.
4x4 Double Cab trims are SR5 (standard or long bed) and Limited. 4x4 CrewMax models come in SR5, Limited and Platinum trims.
All Tundra trims use a 5.7L V8 and six-speed automatic transmission.
4x2 Double Cab trim comes with LED daytime running lights, power-adjustable heated side mirrors, locking tailgate, windshield wiper de-icer, 18-inch steel wheels, limited slip rear differential, forward collision warning with automatic braking and pedestrian detection, lane departure alert, automatic high beams, radar cruise control, cloth upholstery, six-speaker stereo, air conditioning, tilt-and-telescopic steering, power door locks and keyless entry.
SR5 trim adds a tow package, chrome grille surround, bed rail system with tie-down cleats, variable intermittent wipers, 18-inch alloy wheels, fog lights, manual-sliding rear window, eight-way power driver's seat, heated front seats, carpeted flooring and floor mats and satellite radio.
Limited trim gains chrome and colour-keyed exterior trim, automatic LED headlights, LED fog lights, a spray-in bedliner, 20-inch wheels, alarm system, blind spot warning with rear cross traffic alert, leather seating, four-way power front passenger seat, a compass, woodgrain interior trim, power-sliding rear window, seven-speaker stereo, leather-trimmed steering wheel and front and rear parking sensors.
CrewMax Limited also gets navigation and dual-zone automatic climate control.
Finally, Platinum adds puddle lights, power-folding side mirrors with memory, premium alloy wheels, 10-way driver's seat, ventilated front seats with driver memory and cushion length adjustment, upgraded leather upholstery, a 12-speaker stereo and a power-adjustable steering column.
An SX package for Double Cab and CrewMax models adds black wheels and grille and fog lights.
TRD Off Road models build on SR5 with navigation, a garage door opener, front and rear parking sensors, off-road suspension and underbody protection, LED fog lights and headlights and auto-dimming rearview mirror.
TRD Sport is more of an appearance and convenience package, while TRD Pro leaves out some of the appearance pieces and adds more off-road-friendly parts.
Platinum's sole option is a 1794 Edition package that adds chrome exterior trim, upgraded leather upholstery, and wood-and-leather-trimmed steering wheel and shifter.
Toyota's fuel consumption estimates for the Tundra are 17.7/13.6 L/100 km (city/highway) with 2WD and 18.0/14.1 with 4WD.
