NEW FOR 2013:
- Horsepower and torque increase
- Retuned suspension
- Two trim lines available
- Standard rearview camera
- Black Edition adds new dry carbon fibre rear spoiler
The Nissan GT-R receives several updates for 2013, including an increase in power. Horsepower is now 545, up from 530, while torque is increased to 463 lb.-ft. from 448 lb.-ft. The suspension has been retuned for performance and comfort, and a rearview camera is now standard. Previously available only as the Black Edition, the model now comes in two trim lines, the Premium and Black Edition.
The GT-R uses a 3.8-litre twin-turbo V6 with six-speed dual-clutch transmission and independent rear transaxle all-wheel drive system. The transaxle includes hill start assist. Power is transmitted through an electronically-controlled all-wheel drive system specifically developed for the GT-R; it is rear-biased and can vary torque split from 0:100 to 50:50 depending on speed, lateral acceleration, steering angles, tire slip, road surface and yaw rate. The body is hybrid construction containing steel, die-cast aluminum and carbon fibre.
Features on the Premium include 20-inch 10-spoke forged aluminum wheels, dual-zone automatic climate control, six-piston front and four-piston rear Brembo brakes, Bilstein DampTronic system with driver-selectable modes, automatic xenon headlamps, LED running lights and brake lights, heated mirrors, navigation system with rearview camera, Bluetooth connectivity, pushbutton start, driver-configurable vehicle information screen, garage door opener, driver’s auto up/down window, cruise control, tilt and telescopic steering wheel with audio controls, variable intermittent wipers, auto-dimming rearview mirror, Recaro leather-appointed sport seats with eight-way driver and four-way passenger power adjustment, aluminum pedals, carbon fibre interior trim, Bose CD/DVD/MP3 stereo with 9.3GB Music Box system, compact flash card reader, XM satellite radio, iPod interface, tire pressure monitoring system and anti-theft system.
The Black Edition adds 20-inch six-spoke forged aluminum wheels, unique red and black Recaro leather-appointed seats, red and black interior trim, dark headliner, and dry carbon fibre rear spoiler.
