Mitsubishi redesigned its Outlander crossover for 2014, so changes are minimal for 2015.
Outlander comes standard with front-wheel drive and a 2.4L four-cylinder engine (166 hp/162 lb-ft of torque) paired with a continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT); all-wheel drive (dubbed all-wheel control by Mitsu) is optional. The engine upgrade is a 3.0L V6 with 227 hp and 215 lb-ft, and it comes standard with all-wheel drive and a six-speed automatic transmission.
Trim levels are ES 2WD, ES AWC, SE AWC and GT S-AWC.
Standard equipment begins with a driver's knee airbag, hill start assist, 16-inch alloy wheels, auto-off headlights, heated side mirrors, heated front seats, six-way manual driver's seat, four-way manual passenger seat, cloth seats, front map lamps, floor centre console with cupholders, cargo tie-down hooks, cargo cover, leather-wrapped steering wheel with audio and cruise controls, chrome-plated interior door handles, automatic climate control, Bluetooth, keyless entry, power windows with auto up/down driver glass, cruise control, six-speaker stereo, tilt-and-telescopic steering, multifunction trip computer, and illuminated ignition switch.
ES AWC trim adds all-wheel drive.
SE AWC models get the V6 engine and six-speed transmission, fog lights, side mirrors with turn signal repeaters, black roof rails, third-row seat, dual-zone climate control, and intelligent keyless entry.
GT S-AWC trim adds lane departure warning, forward collision mitigation, adaptive cruise control, all-wheel drive system with drive mode selector and active front differential, 18-inch two-tone mesh wheels, Xenon headlights, LED taillights, chrome beltline accent, flat aero-style wipers, silver roof rails, sunroof, power driver's seat, leather seats, centre console with leatherette armrest, 710-watt 9-speaker stereo, satellite radio, high-contrast gauges, power tailgate, and rain-sensing wipers.
