There's an all-new Sorento due for 2016, so this year's model is unchanged from 2014. That means this mid-size crossover is back with a choice of 2.4L four-cylinder (191 hp/181 lb-ft of torque) or 3.3L V6 (290 hp/252 lb-ft) engines, both of which come paired with a six-speed automatic transmission. Both motors can be had in front- or all-wheel drive configurations.
Trim levels include LX, EX, and SX.
The line starts with the LX four-cylinder, which gets front-wheel drive, 17-inch alloy wheels, electric power steering, hill assist control, rear parking sonar, tilt-and-telescopic steering wheel, cruise control, trip computer, sunglass holder, map lights, body-colour side mirrors, chrome door handles, roof rails, lighted vanity mirrors, cloth seats, heated front seats, power locks with keyless entry, air conditioning, power windows, power side mirrors with turn signal repeaters, heated side mirrors and windshield wiper de-icer, variable intermittent front wipers, rear wiper and washer, six-speaker stereo with auxiliary and USB inputs, Bluetooth, three power outlets (two by the front seats, one in the cargo area), automatic headlights, front positioning lights, and fog lights.
An LX AWD trim adds all-wheel drive.
LX Premium AWD adds LED positioning lights, UVO infotainment system, backup camera, leather seats, power driver's seats with memory, dual-zone climate control, electric folding side mirrors, heated rear seats, auto-dimming rearview mirror, compass, intelligent keyless entry with push-button start, and leather-trimmed steering wheel and shifter.
LX V6 trim builds on the base model, adding the big motor, trailer pre-wiring, leather-trimmed steering wheel and shifter, intelligent keyless entry with push-button start, power driver's seat, auto-dimming rearview mirror, and a compass.
An LX V6 AWD adds all-wheel drive, and the LX V6 AWD seven-seat model gets a third row of seating, and climate controls for those seated there.
EX V6 AWD builds on LX V6 AWD, and adds 18-inch wheels, front LED positioning lights, power-folding side mirrors, stainless steel door scuff plates, luggage net, cargo screen, leather seats, driver's seat memory, heated rear seats, heated steering wheel, woodgrain trimmed steering wheel and shifter, automatic dual-zone climate control with automatic defog function, 110-volt power inverter, UVO audio/infotainment, and a backup camera.
EX V6 AWD w/ sunroof adds a panoramic sunroof, and a low-profile chrome roof rack.
SX V6 AWD brings 19-inch wheels, SX appearance package, illuminated scuff plates, power tailgate, HID headlights, LED taillights, driver-selectable steering assist, upgraded gauge cluster, cooled front seats, power front passenger seat, eight-inch multimedia touchscreen, navigation, upgraded 10-speaker stereo with subwoofer, blind spot detection system, garage door opener, mood lighting, and a leather gauge cluster hood.
Finally, the SX V6 AWD seven-seat model adds third row seating, and third-row climate controls.
