Overall Score
I got this car when it had almost 250,000km mileage, and after half a year, it got over 310,000km, nothing wrong with it, pretty reliable, average fuel consumption over 60,000 km is 5.3L/100km on the dash, awesome right?

Issue: On certain vehicles, the weight sensor for the front passenger seat may not have been manufactured properly. As a result, the passenger-front airbag and knee airbag could deploy in a crash that doesn't require them to. Note: If the weight sensor fails, the SRS warning light would turn on in the instrument panel. Safety Risk: An airbag system that doesn't work properly could increase the risk of injury in a crash. Corrective Actions: Honda will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership for an inspection if the SRS warning light is on. If the SRS warning light is on due to a faulty weight sensor, the weight sensor will be replaced. When repair parts are available, Honda will send you a second letter. They will advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to replace the passenger-front seat weight sensor.

Issue: This recall is for low-pressure fuel pumps installed on certain vehicles or sold at dealerships as a replacement part. On certain vehicles, the low-pressure fuel pump could fail. If this happens, the engine may run rough or may not start and the check engine light may turn on. This could also result in a sudden loss of engine power while driving. Note: This is an expansion of Transport Canada recall nos. 2020-236 and 2021-182. Safety Risk: A sudden loss of engine power could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: The company will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to replace the fuel pump motor.

Issue: On certain vehicles, the seat belt buckles for the driver and front-passenger seats could wear over time and may not latch securely. If this happens, the seat belt could unlatch unexpectedly. Safety Risk: A seat belt that doesn't latch securely could create an increased risk of injury in a crash. Corrective Actions: Honda will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealership to inspect the driver and front-passenger seat belt assemblies. In most cases, the seat belt buckle release buttons will be replaced. If the dealer determines that a buckle can't be repaired, it will be replaced with a new part.

Issue: On certain vehicles, the DC-DC converter may shut down in cold temperatures due to a software error. If this happens, the 12-V battery would stop charging and a warning light would turn on in the instrument cluster. If you continue to drive with this warning on, the 12-V battery can discharge and cause a loss of power to the wheels. Safety Risk: A loss of power to the wheels could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Honda will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealer to update the Power Converter Unit (PCU) software.

Issue: On certain vehicles, a software problem in the Body Control Module (BCM) could cause different systems and warnings to stop working. This can include: the window defrosting/defogging system, windshield wipers, turn signals and lights, rearview camera display, and power windows. Safety Risk: Vehicle systems that stop working suddenly could increase the risk of a crash or injury. Corrective Actions: Honda will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealer to update the BCM software.

On certain vehicles, long-term exposure to high absolute humidity and temperature, combined with high temperature cycling, could eventually degrade the propellant contained in the passenger frontal airbag. This could cause the airbag to deploy with more force than normal. As a result, if the vehicle were involved in a collision that warrants airbag deployment, fragments could be propelled toward vehicle occupants, and the airbag assembly could be damaged, preventing proper function. These issues could increase the risk of injury. Correction: Dealers will replace the passenger frontal airbag inflator.

Certain vehicles do not comply with the requirements of Canada Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (CMVSS) 111 - Mirrors and Rear Visibility Systems. Due to a software programming error, the rearview image may not display on the centre display screen while the vehicle is in the reverse gear. This could increase the risk of a crash causing property damage or injury. Correction: Dealers will reprogram the centre display assembly software.

On certain vehicles, the driver frontal airbag inflator could produce excessive internal pressure during airbag deployment. Increased pressure may cause the inflator to rupture, which could allow fragments to be propelled toward vehicle occupants, increasing the risk of injury. This could also damage the airbag module, which could prevent proper deployment. Failure of the airbag to fully deploy during a crash (where deployment is warranted) could increase the risk of personal injury to the seat occupant. Correction: Dealers will inspect/replace the driver’s frontal airbag inflator. Note: Honda Canada has created a special Airbag Inflator Hotline for immediate assistance. On certain passenger vehicles, the passenger air bag module was not properly welded and may not deploy in a collision. The seat occupant may not be properly protected in the event of a collision, increasing the risk of personal injury. Correction: Dealers will replace the passenger air bag module.
