At its 2007 introduction, the GMC Acadia was one of a trio of mid-size, three-row crossovers sold by GM’s Saturn and Buick brands, and was joined by a fourth – the Chevrolet Traverse – in 2009. In 2017, GMC downsized the Acadia for its second generation to better differentiate it from GM’s other three-row crossovers.
What’s New/Key Changes From Last Year
For 2023, the Acadia’s only changes are in its list of available paint colours.
GMC offers the Acadia in SLE, SLT, AT4, and Denali trim levels. SLE, SLT and Denali start with a 2.0L turbo four-cylinder engine, which you can option to a 3.6L V6; the off-road-optimized AT4 gets the V6 standard. Regardless of engine, a nine-speed transmission and AWD are included.
SLE comes with 18-inch alloy wheels, a power driver’s seat, hands-free tailgate, a 120-volt power outlet, LED headlights, a six-speaker stereo, an 8.0-inch touchscreen, heated front seats, and passive keyless entry. SLE also includes lane keep assist, lane departure warning, blind spot monitoring, lane change alert, forward collision mitigation, pedestrian detection, rear park assist, and automatic high beams.
SLT gains navigation, fog lights, an eight-speaker stereo, an auto-dimming mirror, and leather upholstery.
AT4 switches to 17-inch wheels with all-terrain tires, and reverts to cloth seating.
Finally, Denali gains 20-inch wheels, auto-dimming side mirrors, a power front passenger seat, ventilated front seats/heated rear seats, power steering wheel adjustments, a digital gauge cluster, a head-up display, a heated steering wheel, and wireless phone charging.
A Pro Grade package adds surround vision, head-up display, a sunroof, and heated steering wheel to mid-range trims.
A Denali ultimate package brings a dual-panel roof, camera-based rearview mirror, adaptive suspension, adaptive cruise control, and enhanced forward collision mitigation.
GMC’s fuel consumption estimates for the Acadia are 10.8/8.7 L/100 km (city/highway) for four-cylinder models, and 12.6/9.2 with the V6.
