NEW FOR 2011:
- Redesigned model
For 2011, the Dodge Charger is redesigned into its second generation, with new styling, a new V6 engine and new interior. Exterior changes include a dual-scallop hood, signature split-crosshair grille and LED taillights. Inside there are more soft-touch materials, aluminum accents, acoustic windshield and first-row glass, and Uconnect Touch Media centres with 4.3- and 8.4-inch screens. A new “Pentastar” 3.6-litre V6 replaces the 2.7-litre and 3.5-litre V6 engines previously offered.
New standard features include active front head restraints, front seat side airbags and a driver’s knee airbag. New available features include adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning, blind spot monitoring and rear cross-path detection.
The Charger comes with a choice of two engines: a 3.6-litre V6 in the SE, SXT and SXT Plus, and 5.7-litre Hemi V8 in the R/T, R/T Road & Track and R/T AWD. Both use a five-speed automatic transmission. All models are rear-wheel drive except for the R/T AWD (all-wheel drive) model
Features on the SE include 17-inch alloy wheels, dual-zone climate control, Uconnect Touch Media Centre with 4.3-inch screen and six speakers, Keyless Enter-N-Go with proximity sensor, capless fuel fill with locking door, driver’s knee airbag, six-way power driver’s seat, 60/40 split-folding rear seat, illuminated cupholders, automatic headlamps, LED interior lighting and driver information centre.
The SXT adds 18-inch alloy wheels, dual-zone automatic climate control, Unconnect Touch with 8.4-inch screen, six premium speakers and amplifier, fog lamps, remote starter, eight-way power driver’s seat and heated front seats.
The SXT Plus adds leather upholstery, heated rear seats, power passenger seat, and heated and cooled cupholders.
The R/T adds performance suspension, xenon headlamps and rear body-colour spoiler.
The R/T Road & Track adds 20-inch chrome-clad wheels, body-colour grille with honeycomb inserts, retro R/T badges, performance exhaust, 3.06 rear axle ratio and high-speed engine controller.
The R/T AWD builds on the R/T and adds 19-inch alloy wheels and lower ride height.
