NEW FOR 2015:
-Redesigned model
Chrysler's 200, the family sedan loved by rental agencies and few others, gets a ground-up redesign for 2015. It's a welcome transformation into a sedan that's desirable for reasons other than affordable pricing and aggressive incentives.
As before, engine choices include a 2.4L four-cylinder and 3.6L Pentastar V6; the V6 is carried over, but with more power, rated at 295 hp and 262 lb-ft of torque. The four-cylinder is the Tigershark design used in other contemporary Chrysler vehicles, and is rated 184 hp and 173 lb-ft of torque. A nine-speed automatic transmission is standard with both, and certain V6 models can be optioned with a new AWD system that automatically disconnects power to the rear axle when four-wheel traction isn't needed.
Trim levels are LX, Limited, 200S, and 200C. All can be ordered with either engine, save for LX, which is four-cylinder only.
Standard equipment includes 60/40 split-folding rear seat, air conditioning, ambient interior lighting, auxiliary input, two 12-volt power outlets, USB port, 3.5-inch electronic vehicle information centre, power locks, power windows with one-touch down for the driver's glass, cloth seats, rear-seat armrest with cupholders and storage, rotary shifter, six-way manual front seats, steering wheel-mounted audio and cruise controls, tilt-and-telescopic steering, Uconnect 3.0 multimedia stereo with four speakers, centre console storage with armrest, sliding cupholders and storage pass-through, 17-inch steel wheels with covers, active grille shutters, automatic headlights, body-colour fascia, door handles and mirrors, LED taillights, touring suspension, driver and front passenger knee airbags (and a total of eight airbags), electric parking brake, four-wheel disc brakes, intelligent keyless entry for driver's door and trunk, tire pressure monitoring, and a tire service kit.
Limted trim adds 17-inch aluminum wheels, heated side mirrors, eight-way power driver's seat with four-way power lumbar, Bluetooth with streaming audio function, heated front seats, LED daytime running lights, leather-trimmed steering wheel, one-touch up/down for all power windows, fog lights, rear chrome accents, satellite radio, six-speaker stereo, and Uconnect 5.0.
200S includes 18-inch wheels, acoustic windshield and door glass, black chrome and ambassador blue interior accents, dual exhaust tips, gloss black exterior accents, sport mode for transmission, sport cloth seats with leather bolsters, sport suspension, and steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters.
200C trim brings a seven-inch customizable in-cluster display, 17-inch wheels, auto-dimming rearview mirror, dual-zone automatic climate control, mirror-mounted turn signal repeaters, heated steering wheel, intelligent keyless entry for front passenger door, Nappa leather-faced seats, six-way power front passenger seat, backup camera, remote starting, ride-and-handling suspension, tire pressure monitoring display, garage door opener, and Uconnect 8.4A with 8.4-inch display.
Finally, adding all-wheel drive to 200S and 200C models also includes the V6 engine, upgraded brakes, 18-inch wheels (200C) and paddle shifters (200C).
