İts awesome Home / Chevrolet / Chevrolet Aveo Chevrolet Aveo 2011 Chevrolet Aveo 4-door sedan shown VEHICLE NO LONGER IN PRODUCTION A basic-transportation car built for Chevrolet in Korea by Daewoo, the Aveo’s biggest strength is its low price. Performance, refinement, styling, and comfort trail that of the subcompact segment leaders, but there’s a restyle coming for the 2012 model year, so there’s some hope.

Certain vehicles may contain brake fluid that does not inhibit corrosion, which could cause corrosion to form in the anti-lock brake (ABS) module. This could result in longer brake pedal travel and/or reduced brake performance, vehicle instability and a rear wheel lock condition, which may increase the risk of a crash causing property damage and/or personal injury. Correction: Dealers will inspect the ABS module and, if necessary, replace the module. Dealers are to also change the brake fluid and provide a supplement to the Owner Manual that instructs customers to use only GM recommended brake fluid.

On certain vehicles, heat generated within the daytime running light (DRL) module could cause the module to melt, potentially resulting in a fire, which may result in injury and/or property damage. Correction: Dealers will inspect, and if necessary, replace the DRL module.

On certain vehicles, the Daytime Running Lamp (DRL) module may fail, causing one or more of the following conditions: the DRLs may flicker but remain illuminated; the DRL indicator in the instrument panel may flash; the DRLs may remain illuminated after the vehicle is turned OFF; the DRLs may cease to function and the DRL indicator in the instrument panel will turn OFF. A loss of DRL illumination could render the vehicle less visible to other motorists and pedestrians during daylight hours, which could result in a crash causing property damage and/or personal injury. Correction: Dealers will replace the DRL module, if the above condition exists, for a period of up to 10 years or 240,000 km from first vehicle registration.

On certain vehicles, the hardware that secures the intermediate steering shaft to the steering gear may have been incorrectly assembled and could loosen. Should the intermediate steering shaft detach from the steering gear a loss of steering control would occur. This could result in a vehicle crash causing property damage, personal injury or death. Correction: Dealers will inspect and, if necessary, correct the assembly.

On certain vehicles, the engine throttle may stick in the open position due to throttle body icing in temperatures near or below -20 degrees Celsius. If the throttle sticks open while the vehicle is moving, a crash could occur without prior warning. The vehicle may experience this condition even if one or both of the previous two campaign services have been performed. See recall 2005235 (GM 05521) & 2006239 (GM 06515). Correction: Dealers will replace the PCV and throttle body systems.

Certain vehicles equipped with a 1.6L engine may develop a fuel leak as a result of fuel line rupture in a frontal crash test. In addition, the crash damage caused four short circuits in the fuse block, the combination of which allowed the fuel pump to continue running, allowing fuel to be pumped onto the ground. Fuel leakage in the presence of an ignition source could result in a fire. Correction: Dealers will replace the fuse block and install a redesigned section of fuel line.

Certain vehicles may experience throttle body icing in conditions where temperatures are near or below -20 degrees Celsius. Vehicle with this conditions could have the throttle stick open after a cold soak or they can experience a frozen throttle while driving. Correction: Dealers will install new parts that integrate with the coolant system to heat the PCV lines and avoid PCV freezing.

On certain vehicles, the rear outboard shoulder seat belts can contact the seat-back-folding release knob during seat belt use and can twist the seat belt webbing. The twisted webbing may not fully retract into the seat belt retractor, preventing deactivation of an activated Automatic Locking Retractor (ALR) mode. The activated ALR mode prevents extracting the partially retracted webbing, which may make the seat belt unusable. Correction: Dealers will attach a seatbelt webbing guide with three screws to the back shelf panel at the outboard sides.
