2023 Cadillac XT6

History/Overview

The XT6 reintroduced the Cadillac brand to shoppers in the mid-size three-row crossover segment in 2020, from which it had been absent for a decade. Based on a platform that underpins a variety of other General Motors mid-size crossovers, the XT6 bridges the gap between Caddy’s compact XT5 model and the full-size Escalade SUV.

For 2023, the XT6 gains GM’s Super Cruise semi-autonomous driving system as an option.

Available Trims

Cadillac offers the XT6 in Luxury, Premium Luxury, and Sport trim levels. Luxury is powered by a 2.0L turbo four-cylinder engine, while the other two configurations use a 3.6L V6. All-wheel drive and a nine-speed transmission are standard across the board.

Standard Features

Luxury trim comes with 18-inch wheels, auto on/off LED headlights, cornering lights, a driver’s side auto-dimming mirror, a power tailgate, passive keyless entry, and a sunroof. Inside, you get power-adjustable/heated front seats, an eight-speaker stereo, an 8.0-inch infotainment touchscreen, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, and three-zone A/C.

The XT6’s safety package comprises automatic high beams, rain-sensing wipers, forward collision mitigation, pedestrian detection, blind spot monitoring, lane change alert, lane keep assist, lane departure warning, and rear cross-traffic alert.

Premium Luxury and Sport models add a security system, a hands-free tailgate, 20-inch wheels, navigation, ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, heated steering wheel, power steering wheel adjustments, and wireless phone charging.

Key Options

A platinum package adds upgraded leather upholstery, premium floor mats, real-time damping suspension, microfiber headliner, and leather-trimmed dash and doors.

The tech package brings a camera-based rearview mirror, digital gauges, automatic park assist, surround-view cameras with recorder, a head-up display, and rear pedestrian detection.

A driver assistance pack adds adaptive cruise control and reverse automatic braking.

Finally, you can add the Super Cruise highway driving assist system as a stand-alone option.

Fuel Economy

Cadillac’s fuel consumption estimates for the XT6 are 11.2/9.0 L/100 km (city/highway) for the four-cylinder powertrain, and 13.1/9.5 L/100 km for V6-powered configurations.

The XT6 puts Cadillac into an important luxury vehicle segment, where it competes with the Infiniti QX60, Land Rover Velar, Lexus RX, Audi Q7, BMW X5, Mercedes-Benz GLE, Lincoln Aviator, Buick Enclave, and Acura MDX.
