Cadillac introduced the XT4 as a 2019 model, putting the brand in the subcompact luxury crossover category for the first time. The XT4 slots in below the compact XT5 in Cadillac's utility lineup.
What's New / Key Changes from Last Year
Changes for 2020 are minor. Cadillac has shuffled a few features around in the XT4's lists of standard and optional kit. The Cadillac User Experience (CUE) infotainment also adds a "jog" function that lets you bump the system's control dial side-to-side to move left and right within the CUE menus.
Cadillac offers the XT4 in Luxury, Premium Luxury and Sport trims. All three use a 2.0L turbo four-cylinder engine and a nine-speed automatic transmission. Luxury starts with front-wheel drive and the optional of AWD; AWD is standard in the upper two trims.
Luxury trim comes standard with an electric parking brake, capless fuel fill, an 8.0-inch infotainment display, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a seven-speaker stereo, satellite radio, active noise cancellation, power eight-way driver and six-way front passenger seats with two-way lumbar, heated front and rear seats, a split-folding rear seat, heated steering wheel, 4.2-inch colour driver info display, remote engine start, dual-zone automatic climate control, 18-inch wheels, automatic on/off LED headlights, LED taillights, and heated side mirrors.
Standard driver assists include forward collision alert with automatic city-speed braking, rear parking sensors, and tire pressure monitoring.
Premium Luxury trim adds passive keyless entry, garage door opener, auto-dimming rearview mirror, ambient interior lighting, automatic headlights with tunnel detection, auto-dimming side mirrors, rain-sensing wipers, hands-free power tailgate, and blind spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic and lane change alerts.
Sport also builds on Luxury trim with a sport steering wheel, and LED front turn signals.
XT4's Comfort and Convenience package brings an eight-way power front passenger seat, massaging front seats, and ventilated front seats.
An Enhanced Visibility group adds a rear camera mirror with washer, power-folding side mirrors and automatic parking assist.
The Tech package includes wireless smartphone charging, electric steering column adjustments, and an 8.0-inch driver info display.
A Driver Assist group brings advanced adaptive cruise control, enhanced automatic emergency braking and reverse automatic braking.
Finally, a Driver Awareness package adds automatic high beams, a following distance indicator and lane keep assist with lane departure warning.
Cadillac's fuel consumption estimates for the XT4 are 9.8/7.8 L/100 km (city/highway) with front-wheel drive, and 10.9/8.2 with AWD.
