Issue: On certain vehicles, the passenger seat belt assemblies may contain defective automatic locking retractors (ALR). As a result, the seat belts may not properly lock to secure a child seat. Safety Risk: A seat belt that is used to secure a child restraint but is not properly locked could increase the risk of injury in a crash. Corrective Actions: Audi will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealer to inspect the seat belts. They will be replaced, if necessary.

Issue: On certain vehicles, the right hinge pin for the glove box cover may not be attached properly. As a result, the knee airbag could contact the glove box cover when it inflates in a crash. This could cause damage to the knee airbag that may cause it not to inflate properly. Safety Risk: An airbag that does not inflate properly could increase the risk of injury in a crash. Corrective Actions: Audi will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealer to inspect the glove box cover. If necessary, the hinge pin will be positioned properly in its mount.

Issue: On certain vehicles, an internal part in the integrated brake system could fail during hard braking. If this happens, there would be a reduction in brake boost, as well as a loss of the antilock brake system (ABS) and electronic stability control (ESC) functions. This can cause an increase in brake pedal effort and increase the distance needed to stop the vehicle. Safety Risk: A sudden increase in brake pedal force, coupled with a loss of ABS braking and ESC function, could lead to an increase in stopping distance. This could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Audi will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealer to replace the brake booster.

Issue: On certain pre-launch demonstration vehicles, due to a faulty seal, water could enter the high-voltage (HV) battery through the HV battery charging socket. If moisture enters the HV battery, it could cause a short circuit. Note: This condition would cause a warning and the message "Electrical system: fault" to display in the instrument cluster. Safety Risk: An electrical short circuit could create the risk of a fire. Corrective Actions: None of the affected vehicles were sold to retail customers. All vehicles will be inspected by the company to verify if there is any moisture in the HV system. If no moisture is found, a better seal will be installed. If moisture is found, other components of the HV system will also be replaced.
