2011 Audi A8

NEW FOR 2011:

- Redesigned model

For 2011, the Audi A8 is redesigned, including the long-wheelbase A8L. The ten-cylinder S8 is no longer available, while the twelve-cylinder A8L will be introduced at a later date.

Changes for 2011 include new exterior and interior styling, an eight-speed automatic transmission in place of the previous six-speed, a lightweight body and chassis with even more use of aluminum, a console-mounted touchpad for the upgraded Multi-Media Interface (MMI) system that allows the user to ?write? letters or numbers, and on the A8L, a new available ?relaxation seat? with fold-down footrest.

The A8 and A8L use a direct-injection 4.2-litre V8 with eight-speed automatic transmission and Quattro all-wheel drive.

Features on the A8 include 18-inch alloy wheels, dual-zone automatic climate control, eighteen-way power heated leather seats with memory, heated rear seats, automatic adaptive air suspension, tire pressure monitoring system, driver and passenger knee airbags, rear seat airbags, anti-theft alarm, garage door opener, rain-sensing wipers, heated washer nozzles, cruise control, Advanced Key with pushbutton start, Bluetooth connectivity, front and rear parking sensors, rear-view camera, self-levelling adaptive bi-xenon headlamps with washers, LED taillights and daytime running lights, fog lamps, heated auto-dimming and power-folding mirrors with reverse tip-down, power sunroof, aluminum sill plates, four-spoke multifunction heated leather-wrapped steering wheel with power tilt and telescopic column, footwell lighting, power rear sunshade, auto-dimming rear-view mirror, ski sack, CD/MP3 stereo, Sirius satellite radio, iPod interface, navigation system, electroluminescent gauges, and LCD driver information centre.

The A8 Premium adds 19-inch alloy wheels, four-zone automatic climate control, leather door and centre console armrests, power trunk lid, and six-CD/DVD changer.

The A8L builds on the A8 and adds power-assisted soft-closing doors and rear window sunshades.

The A8L Premium builds on the A8 Premium and adds a panoramic sunroof.

Optional equipment includes a night vision system, 22-way comfort seats, Bang & Olufsen premium stereo, sport air suspension, adaptive cruise control, Audi Side Assist, rear seat entertainment system, LED headlights, and in the A8L, a three-passenger rear seat, massaging rear seats, and a refrigerator.
