Lincoln's smallest crossover doesn't have the brand recognition of the big Navigator, but it does give Ford's upscale brand an entry in a very lucrative market for small luxury utility vehicles.
News for 2016 includes the availability of Ford's SYNC 3 infotainment system, a standard power tailgate with the Select package, climate package with windshield wiper de-icer, a 1,360-kg tow rating with the trailer tow package, and a white sands/espresso interior colour scheme in Select-trimmed models.
Carried over from last year are a pair of turbocharged four-cylinder engines. The base motor is a 2.0L that makes 240 hp and 270 lb-ft of torque, while the option is a 2.3L making 285 hp and 305 lb-ft. Both come with a six-speed automatic transmission and AWD.
Fuel consumption estimates are 12.4/9.0 L/100 km (city/highway) for the 2.0L, and 12.8/9.1 with the 2.3L.
Standard features in Premier trim include leather upholstery, a 10-way power driver's seat with lumbar, a four-way power front passenger seat, Ford's SYNC 3 infotainment system with eight-inch touchscreen, nine-speaker stereo, intelligent keyless entry, active noise control, backup parking sensors, heated side mirrors with integrated convex blind-spot mirrors, 18-inch aluminum wheels, and LED taillights.
The mid-range Select trim adds an auto-dimming driver's side mirror, auto-folding side mirrors, 10-way power front passenger seat, ambient lighting, and a power liftgate.
Top-level Reserve models get ventilated front seats, power-adjustable steering column, panoramic sunroof, blind spot monitor, automatic high beams, hands-free liftgate, voice-activated navigation, heated rear seats, and a heated steering wheel.
