A refreshed version of the Nissan Kicks is ready for 2021 and is on sale now at dealers starting from $19,898. The model gets new styling with LED lighting at the front, new colours, and a revised interior with an available new screen, an extra USB port, and more premium finishes, for $500 more than the old model.
The 2021 Kicks comes in four trim levels: S, SV, SR, and SR Premium. All get a 1.6L four rated at 122 hp and 114 lb-ft of torque, paired with an Xtronic CVT and front-wheel drive to return an estimated 7.7 L/100 km city, 6.6 highway.
Styling changes start with an update to the grille that now has Nissan's "Double V-Motion" appearance, along with LED head- and fog lights, with a new rear bumper and LED taillights finishing it off. Two new bright colours and three new two-tone paint schemes (for a total of five) let the Kicks stand out.
Inside, a 7.0-inch screen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto is standard. SR and SV trims get a bigger 8.0-inch screen. SR Premium can still be had with the car's headrest-speaker Bose audio system.
Active safety features include Nissan Safety Shield 360 standard with automatic emergency braking, rear automatic braking, lane-departure warning, blind spot warning, rear cross-traffic alert and high-beam assist, and there is Intelligent Cruise Control as an available feature. SV and SR trade rear drum brakes for rear discs with auto brake hold, and an Intelligent Around View monitor is offered on higher grades.
