Jeep Unveils Two New Models of the Grand Cherokee

NEW YORK – With a 22 percent increase in global sales last year and over 1.2 million units sold, you could say that Jeep is on a roll. Expansion of their manufacturing plants into China, Italy and South America continues Jeep's growth into a genuinely global brand.

The brand celebrated its 75th Anniversary this year with several commemorative Special Editions, across the lineup. The 75th anniversary editions will pay homage to Jeeps military heritage, with exclusive badging and paint colours.

Unveiled today at the New York Auto Show, were two new models of the Jeep Grand Cherokee, which Jeep claims is the "most awarded full-size SUV in history.

The Grand Cherokee Summit is the top spec model in the Cherokee lineup. It boasts a new fascia, grille, fog lamps and 20 inch wheels. Inside the luxurious cabin is a Nappa leather-wrapped dashboard, door panels and console and Laguna leather seats. Active noise cancellation, and an 825 watt, 19 speaker Harman Kardonn audio system elevate. the level of refinement. Luxurious it may be, the Grand Cherokee Summit is still off-road ready with standard Quadralift air suspension, Jeep's Quadradrive 4x4 system and a limited slip differential.

Also unveiled, the Grand Cherokee Trailhawk is the "most capable full-size SUV on the planet" said Mike Manley, head of Jeep Brand.

Trail-rated and designed for serious off-roaders, the Trailhawk is equipped with a serious set of off-road capabilities, including tow hooks, underbody skid plates, Quadra lift air suspension for unique articulation, electronic limited slip differential and Jeep's Quadra Drive II 4x4 System.
