Porsche Says Special Goodbye to Audi's Endurance Racing Exit

In the spring of 2014, Audi created a video welcoming competitor and corporate sibling Porsche back to the 24 Hours of LeMans prototype class and to the World Endurance Championship for the first time. Porsche had been absent from sports-prototype racing since 1998. The tongue-in-cheek ad saw an Audi R18 TDI drive to Porsche's HQ where a welcome note was left with some unique style and a fair bit of tire smoke.

Now, nearly three years later, Audi is leaving prototype racing, and Porsche has made a video to express their appreciation and to say that Audi will be sorely missed. It turns out that the gentleman on the Porsche diesel tractor that Audi mocked in the first video is a big fan of endurance racing and of both brands. His tractor even has a numberplate reading S (for Porsche's home of Stuttgart) LM 24. The man races, or at least as fast as a tractor can, back to the Porsche headquarters to make some changes to the original asphalt message. We won't spoil the ending, but we will say that the field seems a little bit dustier after you watch it.
