Fisher-Price Brings Traction Control to Power Wheels Mustang

Ford and Fisher-Price are making sure that your kid's car gets some of the same safety features you enjoy in your own car. The two worked together to add traction control and stability control to the newest Power Wheels Mustang.

Fisher-Price calls this the most advanced Power Wheels vehicle ever made. The newest kiddie cars get a Smart Drive system that gives traction control on slippery roads, grass or mud, and a tilt sensor that will even cut power if it thinks that the car might flip over. Added to this are digital speed controls that let the young driver choose a speed rather than the previous on or off settings.

What might be the most realistic feature of the Power Wheels Mustang is that it now makes fake engine noise. There is a stereo on board that plays the engine sounds of a real Mustang, and it works much like the piped-in noise that is now used in many sports cars. It also has an auxiliary jack that will let kids play that Disney song you've already heard ten thousand times this year (or whatever else they want to play) on what Fisher-Price says is the biggest speaker they've ever installed.
