Nissan today finalized details for its updated 2017 Rogue compact crossover, which sports revised styling, a few new tech tidbits and a modest bump in price.
The starting tag rises to $25,248 for an S FWD model, up $300 over last year, while that for the newly-named top-end SL Platinum model is up $550 to $36,098, or $36,598 with a new Reserve Interior Package that takes the Rogue a notch upscale with tan quilted leather seating.
For that extra money, Nissan has added some new available technology, including a motion-activated power tailgate, and an augmented suite of Safety Shield features including an updated forward emergency braking system that brings pedestrian detection and adaptive cruise control functions not available in last year's model. Safety kit available in the Rogue for the first time includes lane departure warning and prevention systems.
There's also a greater variety of configurations available, with the volume-selling mid-range SV AWD trim coming four ways, plus a front-drive variant. The base S can also be had FWD or AWD, but SL Platinum is AWD-only.
And Star Wars fans can nerd out over a limited-volume Rogue One Star Wars Limited Edition model that will be unveiled next week at the Los Angeles auto show. That version will likely be launched to coincide with the movie's December release, but all other 2017 Rogue models are in showrooms now.
