Great Car.
Difficult to find the real German finishing in the interiors of the new VWs.
Reliable 2T engine.
Great smooth suspension and ride. Roomy.

Love everything about my Passat. It is smooth, quite, and has all the power you need. Classic car with no detail overlooked by VW.

Love driving this car, very responsive, excellent power yet still good gas mileage. Very comfortable for long trips or short hop to the store. Very good sound system, heated leather seats and professionally tinted windows. Very sharp looking vehicle !!

I purchased this car second hand last year with about 42,000km recorded on the odometer.

After a full year of owning, I have mixed feelings on the car.

All in all, it has been a fairly reliable car, only having to replace the CCV sensor ($250). It can be slightly more expensive to up keep needing synthetic oil, and high octane gas. Plus, because of being of german origin, the parts to order are alightly more expensive.

The car performs very well. It has ample power when utilizing the turbo, the engine sounds good, and the car shifts very well. it handles nicely and brakes well. The streamlined interior is very attractive and you can tell this designers were very deliberate when composing the car and features.

However, I was pretty disappointed with the cabin noise on the highway and not a very subtle suspension. You tend to feel every contour and detail it he road surface while driving. This is was disppointing for being considerd a luxury sedan.

Also, I'm a relatively large male (6'2, 200lbs) I didnt have any space problem per se, but i find the seats are rather uncomfortbale. they seem to lack lumbar support. I find im constantly adjusting the seat on 2+ hour drive to relieve my fatiguing back. (I'm also only 27 yrs old)

If you don't drive the car like a sports car-- which it has the capacity to do-- it can be relatively fuel efficient. Not by modern cars standards though. If you drive aggresively i say city mileage would tend to be 16L/100km (city). If you drive conservatively, like early braking and feathering the gas from a complete stop, it mileage can be managed to about 10-11l/100km in the city. Steady highway cruising can be as low as 8L/100km.

Ive put on 45,000 kms since owning and has been reliable vehicle with no performaces hiccups. Just standard maintenace required like any other vehicle.

When I was 19 My dad decided to pick me up a new car. When I walked out of my house to see my new Passat waiting I was excited. I jumped in and was already wowed by the beautiful interior of the car. When you get in you'll see a nice black sleek stick shift with a beautiful sound system front. It allows 5 cds/ am-fm radio and all your normal temp stuff. Now onto the fun part. driving. This car is nice. It also has a nice notable turbo function. when you speed up you can get to speeds extremely fast. The turning is also one of the smoothest I've ever driven probably only rivaled by the Mazda 6. The 2008 Passat is really one amazing Car even now. Only complaint is It could really use the nice fuel efficiency some cars have today.

Been using this car for 5 years haven't had any problem with it. Very good front wheel for winter. I will recommend this car to anyone

This is an absolutely amazing car in excellent condition. It has high quality performance, incomparable comfort, and is SO much fun to drive! I have driven this car on highways in the USA and have never once felt unsafe, or that the vehicle wouldn't be able to perform to its full potential. I have become a better driver from driving this car, and would recommend it to anyone.

Very reliable car. Powerful, clean sheet design, you coudln't resist her. I've been using this car for two years now and it has always been a pleasure to be behind its wheel. You may think: "well.. A german car... It must take a lot of gas". My answer is: not really, it doesn't consume much, so it's very interesting for your wallet. Last point: german quality, then you can think of keeping this car for a little while.

I continue to be impressed with this 2008 Passat, which I bought second-hand in 2011. The ride is comfortable and responsive, and engine performance is truly excellent from the 2.0 L turbo.

While it doesn't have all the latest gadgets and technology available, I find the Passat makes for a very well-equipped and inviting ride. Passengers have plenty of room front and back, and the driver has classic, well-designed controls within easy reach.

The eight-speaker stereo system sounds very good indeed, but the Aux jack for connecting your iPod is buzzy and bare-bones.

Aside from monthly (synthetic) engine oil top-ups (the engine does burn through oil quickly), maintenance has been as expected from a car with over 100,000 km on the odometer. High octane gas is required, but not unexpected in a turbo four cylinder.

Overall, I am extremely happy with this Passat, both inside and out.
