Best bang for buck,
the equipment is insane for the money.
The only thing is resale values seem to be very regional, so watch where you are when you want to sell or trade in.

Ordered it new, and when I sold it 5 years later with less than 180000 km on it, it had over $7000 worth of warranty work done, the two disasters both being around midnight and stranding me on highways in winter...... pre cell phone era....
Loved it, planned to keep it forever..... complete disaster; as was the many arguments to get the work done under warranty , the tranny took 7 weeks to replace !!

Have had a 1992 Cherokee Country and a 1999 Cherokee Classic. Both were excellent for ride, cargo and reliability. Cheap to fix with an honest mechanic and fun to drive. The mpg is the only reason I sold the second one, but if in a rural area with bush and gravel, I'd get another in a second! Good used buy and fun to modify !!!
Total owner ship was about 9 years, I put about 110000k on each.

We've had this since 2000, and it's been an excellent family and single person vehicle. Pack it full, no problem, 2000 km road trip, no problem. With appropriate tires, its an easy handling, comfortable sedan all year round. Now at 269k, still lots of life left. A few repairs coming up but all minor and not repeat fixes. Any good Volvo mechanic will know everything about the tendencies. A very good used buy, even after 12 years ! I expect we'll get 400k out of her!!
