2002 Dodge Dakota

Trim: Quad Cab Sport
by Vortex91 on 10-18-2012
Best truck ever!
Let me just say that I still miss this truck.

I had to sell it when I did but I REALLY LOVED that truck.

The V8 engine, transfer case and transmission had been designed together and you could tell they indeed worked well together.

It was the right size and the Quad cab also made it a family friendly truck.

I loved everything about it and the sport package made it look like a full size truck.

Every time I see one on the road I start thinking about buying one again.

GREAT truck, I highly recommend it.

1992 Jeep Wrangler

Trim: YJ

A lot of fun with the YJ
I bough this Jeep used for 5K and sold it 2 years later for $3500. It really kept its value.

The square headlights really appealed to me, I know there are purists out there that want every Jeep to have round lights but to me the square ones looked cool and sure worked with the Jeep's overall square shape.

Very reliable, I felt like I could go anywhere regardless of weather or terrain conditions.

Like all Jeeps from that era, weather seals were not that great. This Jeep was not maintained very well when I bought it but despite of all the cosmetic and mechanical negligence, it just kept going.

I think anyone should own a Jeep (Wrangler, YJ, TJ, etc.) at some point in their life, especially when they're young. Mine had a hard top and a soft top and it was a lot of fun.

2003 Jeep Liberty

Trim: Limited
by Vortex91 on 10-18-2012
It's a JEEP!!!
This is my wife's Jeep but she really loves it, I do too. This thing can go anywhere. It's got true 4x4 and in the winter you really feel safe and won't have to worry you'll get stranded.

I'm not a big fun of the round headlight but I guess it works well with the overall design.

This is a SOLID truck, you can feel how stiff the whole thing is when you drive it, almost no flex at all.

The fuel efficiency could be better but hey, it's a Jeep.

We bought it used in 2006 and had almost now problems with it.

Very reliable and fun to drive. The steering is fantastic, you can turn on a dime, I always take the Liberty when we go (grocery) shopping, you barely have to maneuver to get in or out of a parking spot and the truck is high and big enough to put stuff in without effort.

2008 Chevrolet Malibu

Trim: 2LT
by Vortex91 on 10-18-2012
A lot of car for the money
I bought this car new in '08 and I really enjoy driving it.

Great comfort and engine performance but one thing that continues to amaze me is how quiet the car is.

I've had a few issues like a defective door lock solenoid, a bad gas pedal sensor and a weird rattle but all of them were fixed by the dealer under warranty.

GM's customer service got involved in the rattle issue and they escalated to their engineering department. They handled the entire things very well and I was impressed by how involved they were throughout the process. It turned out it was the sunroof privacy screen resonating when hitting a bump in the road at a certain speed.

Overall, great car for the money.

1991 Chevrolet Camaro

Trim: RS
by Vortex91 on 10-16-2012
Lots of fun with the tops down.
This was an impulse buy and let me tell you, I don't regret it for a second.

It has T-tops and in the summer is a lot of fun. The engine is a V8 305 TBI Small Block Chevy; I wished it were a 350 but it's got a lot of torque and you just feel the power when you pinch the gas.

I love the 3rd generation Camaro body style and so far it's proved very reliable. Whatever problems I've had with it were easily fixed and the parts very inexpensive due to the aftermarket immense supply of parts.

It still has the original paint and it still looks good.

A few years back I went autocross racing with it and had a blast taking it around the corners, there is nothing like rear wheel drive.

3rd gen Camaros are a lot of fun (especially the V8s) and just like the 2nd gen, their value is starting to appreciate.

The breaks could be better but if you find one with the 1LE package you're good.

This is not my daily driver anymore but it sure is fun to drive.
