This was the 26th car I had personally owned. I bought it as a demo with 9000 kms. On my first drive home all I could think was how "stellar" the car was to drive, both for reasons related to excellent performance and luxury. I also owned a 2003 Mustang GT at the time so I wasn't unfamiliar with performance. (The GT only had 5 more ponies than the Audi's V6)
I have owned the car for six years and I have only done the front brakes and tires. (Neither were required until the car had over 85000 kms.) I have heard they can be troublesome and expensive to fix, but I have not experienced either.
My impressions overall have been so excellent, I got rid of my GT (as a toy) and picked up an older V8 Audi S4 and have experienced similar good luck.
I am hooked.
The fuel economy isn't fantastic, but considering the 2 tonne weight and all wheel drive, it's not as bad as I expected either.
The Quattro all wheel drive system is absolutely faultless. I have never been close to stuck and I do a lot of back road country driving. I did use all seasons the first year, but did add winter tires since and now I might as well be driving a tank.
Cargo space still floors me when the seats are folded down.
Fit and finish is better than ANY car I have owned; solid and great materials.
I did test the 2.0T and it looked the same with similar fit and finish, but the 3.2 has the soul of a sports sedan.... passing is instant and gratifiying. I cannot believe I've never had any speeding tickets; it's deceptively quiet and quick.
