2000 Nissan Altima

Trim: GXE

Did what I needed it to do!
4 cylinder, 5-spd manual. Great commuter car. I moved to a sedan after having a coupe as my first car. I felt I wanted more space which the sedan definitely gave me. Fuel economy was good. There wasn't a whole lot special about this car. It just did what I wanted it to do. Get me from A to B and be able to carry people or gear (camping or hiking.) Power options across the board. No moonroof or alloy wheels. Exterior styling wasn't anything special.

Still a great commuter car.

2006 Volkswagen Jetta

TDI... Need I say more?!
My wife and I bought this car as the ultimate commuter car and it is. 850-950km to a single tank of diesel, you just can't beat that. Take into account that the price of diesel is cheaper that gas, it's a win-win situation. It has all the options you need including the best heated seats in the car industry (in my opinion) that keep you warm all winter long. Leather, moonroof, mp3 CD player.

The only "special" thing I can find on the Special Edition TDI is the rear lip spoiler which does add a bit of sportiness.

Only downfall of this car is when we get the extreme cold here in Calgary. -20 degrees and lower, the car has a hard time heating up. The diesel engine doesn't heat up very quickly in the cold and it's all too evident when it's cold here. The usual 20 minutes of highway driving to get to the city and that temp gauge barely moves. Thank goodness for those seat warmers!

The best car I've owned!

2008 Nissan Altima

Trim: ALTIMA COUPE 2.5S
by JR__97 on 10-15-2012
Great, sporty ride!
This was my first brand new car I every bought. Loved the new styling of coupes. Being an entry level to the new coupes, it still came fairly loaded. No leather but still came with heated seats like a lot of Nissan's do. Can't go wrong with those in Calgary! Power moonroof and seats and came with 16" alloy wheels. 6-speed manual transmission was fun to drive and gave great highway mileage. My time with that car was short lived. Sold it two years later and used the money to buy a house. For that reason alone, it was a great car!

1990 Acura Integra

Trim: GS

Oh the memories... My first car.
This car brings back great memories. I didn't get my first car until I was 18. It would have been 11 years old when I bought it. I thought I was doing alright having a little red sports coupe as my first car. 4 cylinder engine wasn't the fastest but it was decent on fuel. Stock stereo was a cassette deck so I did what any 18 year old boy would do and put in a new CD player, speakers, amp, and subwoofer. I didn't have any major issues with the car except for the size. Eventually it was too small for me and the activities I wanted to do.

2002 Acura TL

Trim: 3.2 TL

Dated but still great.
I received this car from my dad at around 204,000km and I'm close to 330,000km and it's still going strong. It's comfortable which is great for me because I'm in my car for work. Exterior styling has become quite dated due to new designs. Handles great and has good acceleration. My previous cars were all 4 cylinder models and this one comes with a thirstier V6 that requires the dreaded premium fuel. That would be my only major downfall with the car.
