I've purchased the car pre-owned in 2012 and had it for a few months. This was was the fastest sedan but is now conquered by the newer BMW M5 model.

the V10 engine is superb, it's as fast a Ferrari 360. The SMG is a little slower because it's a single clutch but I'm comparing it a newer model with Dual Clutch.

the car doesn't come with heated steering wheel or rear heated seats. I have the head display, it's super cool but hardly any use.

I'm getting 17.8 L/100 km and that's with conservative driving.

the idrive or navi system is slow but was good back in 2007.

cup holders can't hold anything bigger than a regular water bottle.

the verdict:

if you want performance without sacrificing the wallet for gas, this car isn't for you. Otherwise, enjoy the ultimate bmw experience.

I've owned the car since 2004 brand new and I racked up over 380,000 km. Not engine or transmission problem. I easily get 600 km per 50 L tank on regular gas.

The interior and exterior design was still up to date until 2011. You're getting good value.

Only complaint I have are the rust on door sills are a known issue.
