2009 Pontiac Montana

by The-Darkness on 01-18-2013
Awesome Van
Pontiac's 2009 Montana looks sportier than its Chevy Venture or Oldsmobile Silhouette siblings, but mirrors them in almost every other way. Available with no trim designation, SE, GT, 'Vision' or 'Thunder' packages the Montana offers up to 8 person capacity with access through passenger and driver side power sliding doors - optional. The base model includes power windows, locks and power heated mirrors, CD player, theft deterrent system, integral child seat, ABS and A/C. Versatrak AWD is just one of a long list of optional features that also includes a rear DVD entertainment system in the Vision model. The Montana Thunder edition incorporates SUV styling, 16" chrome alloy wheels, two-tone seats and a rear spoiler.

2008 Pontiac Montana

by SOI on 01-16-2013
So impractical!
I have been very disappointed with this minivan. As a mom of 3, I have had minivans for years; but I have never had one with so little room! The Montana feels very cheap, and mine has electrical bugs (sensors saying there are problems that are not really there). But the biggest problem is the lack of room! If you buy more than a couple bags of groceries, you need to fold down a backseat to fit them in. There is very little leg room in the backseats, which is more and more problematic as my kids grow. Also, if you do any winter driving, turn traction control OFF. Such a useless function, since it keeps the tires from turning properly in the snow.
Really the Montana is almost too small to be a practical family vehicle, despite having 7 seatbelts.

Pontiac Montana
We have 2 of these vehicles and both have been very reliable. They require little maintenance and have a smooth ride.Neither have required any major/costly repairs since purchased. Very roomy and comfortable, lots of cargo space. Rear seats can be removed easily if necessary. The only complaints are that some iof the sensors can be a little sensitive and the gas mileage is not that great. They are older vehicles, but if you keep up with the regular maintenance- they are very reliable.

Not bad for a family car
experience is pretty good. vehicle weaknesses are headlights and power windows. lots of interior room, 7 passengers and they mean it. it is a good vehicle aside from the weak headlights.

I love our pontiac montana
While not the best van on gas, the fact that our 11 year old van has held up is pretty good. It gets my husband back and forth to work ust fine. Only problem we seem to have is that the wipers on the van never go down after using them. Something he can live with him im sure!

Good car for a family
Well, the car in general is cheap and it can last for years. The problem with it is that it has bad heating and cooling system. It breaks too easily if you buy it used. Never had engine problems and you feel like the car is big enough for two families. The design is bad and looks ugly but compared to other mini-vans its descent. To accelerator you have to use a lot of gas so the car isnt fuel efficient. Good car for picking up your firends and families.

Basic Van
Not fancy, very reliable. Cheap to own, very practcal.
Good for hauling kids around, very safe-good for highway travel.
This is the third one that I have owned, and I would probably get another.

Im sorry
A great car as my other car (Buick). But the performance is poor i keep hearing scary noises this car keeps getting stalled and thats not that good. But the worst was when i was in a highway and the car just stoped in a highway not knowing i got lucky and the car just started randomly it self. Breaks and much more are really bigger problems.Years later after i was very mad i had no choice i was going to decide to sell the car but when i did, i had recived money and that means i recived a new chance to buy and a new car and with that money i bought the Buick i really wanted.

2011 Montana gets you around
This review is for the 2011 Pontiac Montana. First off, lots of space to stow. If you're going furniture shopping, it's great to have. However, the fuel economy is terrible, and problems with alignment and suspension seem far more frequent than with other minivans. It has some nice features to keep the kids entertained, but overall, it's a mediocre drive.

Has been a great vehicle!
Our pontiac montana is still going strong....12 years old. Fairly economical on gas for a large vehicle. Comfy ride. Have barely put any money into it for maintenance, cheap repairs for what we have had to do. The body is starting to show its age now. Almost 300,000 k on it! Great family vehicle. Only fill it up once every 2 weeks. 20km drive each way to work. Back seats come out, creates lots of room. Also, has decent pulling capacity, able to pull at least 3,000lbs.

It's an alright ride
I enjoy both the interior and exterior design. The only things that I don't like about it are the issues with it. I have problems with the radio, oil spills, and the gas meter is broken,
When the van was new, it was really good

Great reliable van with plenty of room for everyone
I bought this car used this year and it has been wonderful. I previously owned a town and country and while the town and country offered a smoother ride this van has been far more reliable. It has reasonable fuel economy for a larger vehicle and it seats four car seats easily. Space between the front and back seats could be greater but there is plenty of cargo space for strollers and wagons for day trips. I am very impressed with this van thus far.

Comfortable ride
Have to say that the pontiac montana is a very comfortable ride. The seats inside are nice and wide, and very soft. However the van itself is a huge gas guzzler, and can sometimes be a very finicky ride. Sometimes the wiper blades stay up! However still running properly and reliable, we refuse to get rid of it!

Loving our pontiac montana
We recently were given the pontiac montana as a 2nd vehicle from my parents. While fuel economy is a huge downfall (its a van, you expect it to guzzle gas), the comfort inside the van is in pristine condition and very very comfortable.

Good family car
With seating for seven, this is a good family car. It is great for chauffeuring the kids around in comfort, Plus, there is lots of room for groceries or whatever.I t has been very reliable, in the two years I have had it it has never let me down, Really, the only issue I have with it is that it does use a lot of gas.

Plenty of room
I've had this vehicle since new and have been happy with it. It is coming up 10 years now and other than replacing shocks and having a tune up, I've had care free driving for 230k. The one thing I really like about the vehicle is the amount of room for just about everything. I've taken it across country with the kids and it was wonderful.

Good Ole GM !!!
I bought this Van from my Brother in law when it a couple of years old. I drove it to the moon and back. Then last year EVERYTHING in the ftont end went. Fixed it, then happened again. Well thats GM for ya, when it wants to be broken, it stays broken.

Do not buy!!!!
We bought one of these without knowing that they are prone to blowing head gaskets. Sure enough, 5 months after getting it, head gasket gone. Good luck finding a good engine to replace it, since all the other montana`s head gaskets go too. Over 2 grand to fix it, IF the heads and/or block aren`t damaged when it goes. Sad really, because the van was actually an enjoyable vehicle while it was running.

2003 Pontiac Montana best used van of this age
I purchased my Montana through an ad on Autotrader.ca. Super clean inside and out. Minor paint flaws with some repairable rust on the rocker panels. Drive is smooth and reliable. Has full upgraded system with dvd player. Air Conditioning, Anti-Lock Brakes (ABS), CD Player, Keyless Entry, Power Mirrors, Power Steering, Power Windows, Tilt Steering, Bucket Seats, Cruise Control, All Equipped, Fully Loaded, Captains Chairs, 3rd Row Seating, Cup Holder, Map Lights, Trip Computer, Tinted Windows, Trip Odometer. This is a great ride I feel very safe with my grandchild safely in her car seat in the middle row. Thanks Autotrader.ca.

It's a great vehicle
The 2003 Pontiac Montana is a great vehicle. In my experience, it is extremely comfortable, fuel efficient mini van. I have taken it on a few long distance drives and have no problems. It handles really well. I would consider buying another one.
