Hyundai Accent 2002Change

This has been an excellent vehicle for us. Has been reliable in all weather and has excellent fuel efficiency. Our teenage son outgrew the back seat so we got a bigger vehicle.

This car is fantastic and well maintained. Because it has been parked it needs a tire but over all the car is in excellent condition. The only reason I'm selling is because insurance in Toronto is too expensive. Keep in mind the car has had a complete overhaul and is working perfectly. It is very good on gas seeing as it is a manual car.

This is a one owner car, and has been a terrific car to drive. The gas consumption has been amazing, the clutch plate is original, and the clutch has never been adjusted, and It still shifts gears as well as the day I bought it. The car has been well looked after both mechanically and body wise. There is some corrosion on the rear fenders, but the rest of the body is in excellent condition. The front brakes were fully done at 125,000 km's, and the rear brakes were fully replaced 2 months ago. The tires were replaced about 30,000 km's ago and are 80,000 km tires and in excellent shape. My guess is the car isn't even at the 1/2 way point of it's life expectancy. All around, just an awesome car to drive. The only reason this car is up for sale is that I have health problems and don't feel I should be driving anymore. It's just becoming too difficult for me to drive now and I just feel that I should quit driving before I just can't anymore.

had this car for a year love it works great very good on gas but have two kids some need something little bit bigger for the kids also live in the north so looking for a truck 4x4 type vehicle so need to get rid of quickly

Faults:

What follows isn't a joke, otherwise I wouldn't have taken any time to write this.

Transmission had a problem shifting on the highway 2 weeks after I bought the car.

Motor had to be changed at 118 000 km.

Took 1 pint of oil each 3000 km.

Battery had to be changed twice within 30 000 km.

Alternator, front bearings, timing belt and exhaust had to be changed.

Prestone pump and windshield washer pump had to be changed.

Front caliper on the driver's side fell on the highway, back brakes weren't working. Replaced the front brakes twice without knowing about the back ones.

Hand brake and overdrive buttons weren't working, as well as the lights on my dashboard.

Plus, rust was spreading like wildfire.

Maybe it is a fuel efficient car, but with my engine problem it was consuming about 15 liters/100 km (no joke).

General Comments:

The car was fun to drive and comfortable.

I bought this car without having it checked by a professional, and the blame is on me, I guess, but I'm sure it would've gone bad, even with the help of someone who knew more than me.

I've paid 4000$ for it, and I spent a good 5000$ for repair.

Check the car for a good 3 hours before thinking about buying this lemon. I would maybe buy a Hyundai if it was from 2010 and up.

I love it for the fuel econony. You don't feel like you are always filling up. Just the right size for the two of us. I will be getting another one when the time comes.

this car is my baby & I wouldn't trade it for te world! My hubby hates it but I love it it has a smooth ride and gets me to where I am going without issues. it was the best wedding gift ever!

This car is been excellent to drive.
It has excellent fuel economy and stability control.
It is priced right and has nice value.

Purchased the car second hand because our vehicle broke down. Is a simple point a to b car and has great mileage.

I've owned an accent for 8 years and its been a good car. For a used car I've had very little mechanical problems beyond the normal wear and tear. The fuel economy has also been good for an older car.

its great on gas and runs good has good breaks. its a five speed and has power. silver and it has two doors, hatchback

cheap car, feels like everything will broke lol

but it cont use lots of gaz, dont cost much to full it, and the parts for that car are cheap too, never cost big bills to fix it

I would recommand if you only need a car to do short distances, I never feel safe in it.. if you have enough money to buy another car do it

I had this car for several years, it's very economic and quite reliable. The trunk is very large so you can fill it up with a lof of stuff.

Good choice for a small family on a budget, we use it like it's a truck it's moved a lot of stuff over the years and is great on gas.

If you can do some repairs as with any car is a bonus
also enough room for 5 people but sits 4 comfortably.

I find the Accent to be a great every day use type of car. I find it to be very rickety and wobbly on the highway but in the city at lower speeds it's great. The fuel economy is incredible and the reliability is astounding. On the 2 door hatchback model I find the back seat to be sufficient for kids, and on shorter distance rides adults are fine. there is also a fair amount of trunk space.

This car runs great. Is it glamourous? No. Does it have fins and NOS and 16" subwoofers? No. Is it practical, economical, great on gas, and a surprisingly fun ride? Definitely. This car will be what you need it to be, and I'm sure it has lots of life left in it. This was made at a time when Hyundai was turning around its image, so they definitely had something to prove, and to me, they proved it.
