Chevrolet Optra 2003-2009Change

The small 4 cylinder engine has far more pep then you would expect. However the fuel economy can be a little on the heavy side. There have been a few repetitive leaking issues with the coolant lines but there haven't been any major repairs on key operational components. I am now at 108,000 km and the engine is still relatively quiet. It does take a little while for the engine to warm and normalize on the rpm, but what car doesn't like cold weather. Overall the handling and the responsiveness of the steering is quite nice for an economy car from Korea. One of the larger downfalls is the tire size of the car. The size they selected for this car was based purely on looks as the car does not warrant the low profile it was given, and the size 195/55r15 is not the most affordable 15" tire going. Luckily an alternate size that is far more common (and affordable) is available.

this car I great for day-day activites. use full for driving around town in the city but has trouble getting speed on hills

Awesome. Lots of room without feeling like you're driving a boat. 3 kids fit in the back seat and a full trunk space left for large grocery trips. Super economical on gas.

Since I've bought this car I had some problems with it, I had to change the motor head, the calipers and more more more. I have a great time riding it but for the mechanic probably another car could be better.

I have not had alot of problems with it. Just the wheel bearings. The style of the outside is nice. The inside needs more cup holder and to be more user friendly.

problems with transmission. works for the rest.Not good , not a big accelaration, but fuel consomption not really good.

Quite enjoy this car. Has some issues with day run lights as well as heat thing on the inside. Also had to rebuild engine but oh well. Like my optra.

Major flaws with this car are bad lights and faulty heating system. This is not the car for you if you live in a cold climate. Overall engine performance is good.

I have owned this car for 5 years and have had no issues with it at all.

I bought this car 5 years ago. It brought me from point A to poInt B. Its beige on beige. Electric windows and doors. The car itself never gave me problems. Its a small car but very cozy. Its a smooth ride. The car itself was great in the winter. and enough to drive around 5 people comfortably.

I have learned to do the research before you buy a car. The Chev. Optra has Metric & Standard , parts can be expensive and the labor...wow I literally paid $150+ for a $2.50 fix. The car also has a "hallow" noise, there is very little sound barrier...not my favorite vehicle, miss my mustang. But that's one mans opinion.

Drove this vehicle for about 4 years and wasn't impressed by some of the repairs I had to do considering it was a brand new vehicle. Within the first two weeks that I had the vehicle, the wipers stopped working (motor blew), the next repair was a gear shift problem (wasn't under warranty), and then - the last straw, a transmission problem. Not sure if I just ended up with the Lemon on the Lot...but I gave up on it and traded it in.
