Volkswagen Jetta 2011-2014Change

My Jetta is fantastic. I have never been so happy with any other vehicle I've owned.Ive had a few complications, like minor maintenance but besides that, everything is great.

i love my jetta! she's been the perfect first car to me for the last two years and i couldn't have asked for a better ride! she's comfortable, great to drive, great on gas and just a great vehicle. totally recommend this car to anyone!

The VW Jetta is a reliable, trendy, accurate driving car. Its a nice car, very good for town. A lot of space, comfortable seats, its a pleasure to ride it. I feel safe with this car. It has a very good stability on the road. A lot of options which are making driving a lot easier.

very good quality, never had to go to the garage for any problems. very good looking from he exterior design andd even from the interior design is very good looking. the colour white is perfect for it. the front bumper is good. 2.5L is amazing... hte 2L is not good because the jetta is a heavy car. very strong car. i would change the dashboard because it is too simple... maybe for something more advanced...

You get what you pay for. Not luxurious by any means however fairly reliable. Best in class I believe. Dealer service is great and body warranty is unbeatable. Some down falls include numerous rattling noises in vehicle. Good is Dealer services are good. They put customer first and attempt to resolve all problems in timely fashion. Fairly spacious for class. Truck space is large.

I was hesitant to make a decision on my first vehicle but I am glad I ended up choosing the VW Jetta. It's held up to my expectations over the past few years and I can't imagine driving anything else.

The vehicle is reliable, stylish, and efficient. I have had no issues with my car and the VW staff has always been accommodating and informative when I did have questions.

its a great ride but since its only 4 cilinder it dosent have much power but it still a great car and has a great radio design

It's nice when driving down the highway, you can't really hear any cars while driving. It handles well and the ride is nice and smooth.
Aesthetically it's a very nice looking car. Ours is black, and it looks really good in black.
Well made vehicle, with excellent fuel economy. Especially if you do a lot of highway driving.
Very reliable, ours was bought used and we haven't had any issues with ours and we've had it more than six months.

I have had no problems with this car. We bought it to replace an older volkswagon jetta and we still have them both. We love this car as well as our older one. This is the only car that I would ever buy. You cant beat the fuel economy that this car gets.

I sold this car only a few months after I bought it. No reliability. So expensive to fix anything also. Stay far away from it. Only redeeming quality is the fuel efficiency. You will regret owning this hunk of junk. Run away if you see one.

Pretty noisy, fun to drive if you like noisy cars, sharp color, many people will look at you when u push the pedal, etc..pretty fun tho to drive this car.

Bought used 2 years ago. Daily driven since.
We can comfortably fit our growing family of 4. Spacious interior and large trunk. Decent fuel economy in the city and great on the highway.

On the downside, the brakes on this car are awful and have a tendency to collect crud from the road when travelling in foul weather. Car typically sounds like it will fall apart under braking for a few days after traveling in bad weather.

Acceleration is virtually non existent on the 2.0 liter engine, which is why it's commonly known as the 2 point slow. Going from 60 to 100 is terrible, regardless of how much you downshift.

Would not buy again

Smooth ride, great comfort for the city and superb handling for highway driving. Fuel consumption is competitive with all the other cars I've driven in this category. High fuel efficiency both city/highway.

Trunk is deep enough to fit 3 hockey bags. And interior comfortably fits 5 people.

This is my favorite generation of the Jetta's because of its lines and design. I used it to meet with clients and always felt confident driving in with my Jetta.

Great cars have 623.000km on it and still runs like the first day :)
Absolutely cheap on fuel and excellent vehicle for family or work

..thisdiesel cars never break down if you take care of them and do the services in time :)

You can't go wrong with Volkswagon. I have owned 2 Jettas and both have been amazing. Volkswagons drive well, last a long time and have decent by back value. I highly recommend the Jetta!

I am a mom of two young sons. I bought this car because I wanted something new and reliable but I was on a budget. This suited our needs as a family far better than any small SUVs that were in the same price range. The trunk space is HUGE and there is plenty of room in the backseat for my kids aged 3 and 5 (1 and 3 at the time of purchase). I drive a manual and it's a super fun ride when the kids aren't with me. Speeds up fast and the rims give it a super cute look. I also have a set of winter tires on separate rims because I live in northern Alberta. I was concerned about the clearance during our sometimes harsh winters, but it has never once failed me. Even though the exterior styling isn't as good as some of the jettas gone by, or even the city jettas, I love this car so much and hope to have it for many years to come.

This is my first VW after owning Honda's. I have 39,000km on the Jetta currently and purchased it new in July of 2014. The only minor complaint is the window operation in winter as they tend to freeze as my car sits outside. I am more than satisfied with this vehicle and the ownership experience. I have two friends that also own Jetta's and highly recommended that I look at a Jetta. I chose it over an Acura ILX, Subaru Impreza Limited, Civic Touring and a very close Mazda GT.

One major concern (air coming from brake pedal) was addressed over one year ago and was not resolved at that time. It was then resolved approximately one year later during this most recent visit with a replacement of the brake booster. I am still not sure why this was not resolved on my first visit when I originally brought this matter to the attention of both VW Corporate and the dealership.
By the way, the speedometer is still inaccurate, the brakes still squeal, the ABS braking system still causes my brake pedal to vibrate irregularly (unlike any other car I've driven) and there are still rattling noises coming from the front console.
Today, a new problem arose: while attempting to go out and buy a Valentine's Day gift and flowers for my wife, the ((!)) red emergency light (and buzzer) came on about 100 meters into my drive. I turned around and went home immediately to call for assistance. I let the car cool down, and started it again about 10 minutes later, but this "Transmission Overheating" light/buzzer came on again upon restarting. Eight (8) hours later, I turned on the car again and the light/buzzer remained on. I called Roadside Assistance (as the Owner's Manual informs us not to drive when this light is on) and I was told that my car could be towed to the dealership and worked on after the holiday weekend. I had to borrow my wife's 8 year old Honda to successfully go out and buy her a gift. I now will not be able to take my car on my vacation as originally planned. This car has proven unreliable many times in its short 40,000 km lifespan. I believe that the quality of VW workmanship has become increasingly poor since it was outsourced from Germany to Mexico. I do not think that these vehicles have been properly safety-tested at the manufacturer for cold Canadian winters as these problems seem to surface, re-surface and intensify during low temperatures.

I've been dealing with this issue almost since I got the car, which was April 1st 2014. It's an intermittent issue that I can't reproduce but I have provided plenty of evidence of it happening. When listening to Bluetooth, randomly, the sound will completely cut out and I will head nothing but a high pitched tone. Turning off my phone doesn't fix it, switching to another input and the back doesn't fix it. I should say that if I switch to FM for example, the sound does work. I have provided videos of the problem, which happens every 2 weeks, give or take and seemingly has gotten worse.
The dealer replaced the stereo 3 or 4 times and the MDI unit once, each time, same problem. They told me the problem was my phone not being compatible with the car, a Google Nexus 5, I need a new phone anyway so I bought a one plus two and happened again! This time Crosby and VW told me that I needed to use a mainstream phone as somehow, the Nexus 5, made by LG isn't mainstream enough. Okay, I ended up borrowing an iphone4 from a friend and probably a week later, the same problem happened again!!
The dealer had told me that the same tone issue happens in Passats due to corrosion issues with the MDI device, how in the world does this happen due to a manufacturers defect in Passats but on my Jetta, it's related to my device? At this point the deal basically told me there is nothing else they can do and closed the issue. I now have to deal with customer relations and they are pretty unresponsive.
On top of this, when I first bought the car there was the block heater recall. A voluntary ECM recall, the diesel recall, which is ongoing. And I had another fun problem where one day, I get in the car and the passenger window is down. Try to roll it up and it goes right back down! I called the dealership, they didn't return my call, drove to the dealership, they took the car and 'reset the software' which fixed the problem but they couldn't give me a reason as to why it happened.

This car is amazing. It has amazing performance yet is comfortable when that is prefered. It cuts an amazing profile and is an all around great car!

This is an awesome car for someone that spends time driving throughout the day. The fuel economy on the diesel is beyond what I expected and the performance is outstanding with the diesel torque.
