Subaru 1978-2018Change

Bought used 2 years old. General maintenance done. 3 wheel bearings replaced and normal brake repairs. Wouldn't buy anything else to replace it. 150000kms

I've had this car for the last five years and I do have to say it's perfect for everything I like to do and my daily travels. I love traveling in and out of the country and the fuel economy makes this possible without breaking the bank. So much room is in this car that even with the seats filled it doesn't feel like a tight fit. The interior is not the swankiest although all it takes is some personal touch and design (ie. seat covers, mats, wheel cover, etc.). This car is perfect for all seasons and warms up so fast in the winter with the heated seats to keep warm. The trunk is very large as well. I've never had a problem with my Subaru and I love it.

Bought this car because I needed something more grown up and professional then my pick up truck, it is, and it handles the road just as good!

Performance are amazing, one point to know with this model, you will have problems with the air intake at one point.

Fuel economy is horrible. no joke, i feel like its a truck on that point.

comfort is really good, but the passenger side get so cold during winter that your feet are freezing. Its terrible.

This car is great for people that are always on the move but like more space. With better fuel economy than most cars, it will be perfect for long distance travel with the crossover space you get from an SUV as well as compactness of a sedan. The hatchback style also allows for more storage.

I have owned my Forester for about 4 years and in that time I have spent just about what I paid for the car in repairs.
One of the control arms broke when I was on the highway and just about caused me to roll the car. Not a lot of fun. Apparently it is a recall issue. And although I took it to the dealer for work three times and had them look for any potential problems none of them checked my control arms. This honestly almost cost me my life. Repairing this would have cost me about $3000 but after much waiting and B.S. Subaru covered it.

Outside of that I have replaced the entire air conditioning system ($1500) Timing belt, Break lines, and now the transmission is failing and is sitting in the shop waiting to get an estimate. If it is more than a few hundred bucks I am going to drive the thing off a cliff as fast as I can make the thing go.

I would not call this a reliable car. The other thing is that there are very few dealerships compared to the big three. This can make it tricky when getting service.

It is a tank and deals with foul weather extremely well. For this I love it. The roof racks work very well and for its age it looks good.

I seriously wish that I could share in the great reliability stories that people here share. At this point I am looking at other brands.

I'm so glad i got a Subaru. It's reliable and fun to drive. I have never had a car that i could reply on and I will always purchase Subarus in the future.

This car has excellent control on every weather experience! The driving experience is so comfortable and we feel extremely safe! The appearance looks like a diamond! we bought the pearl white paint so pretty has sparkles thru out the car! Love the wheels just so very happy with our purchase we would recommend this car to all our friends and family!!

I've had this car for 5 1/2 years and found it very reliable. No major problems, although the few repairs have been rather expensive. More comfortable than my last car – a Volvo wagon. Really good in snow, without winter tires. Great heater. Excellent clearance for back roads. Lots of storage space, especially with one or both rear seat sections folded down. My only beef is the poor rear visibility that makes backing up difficult.

Bought this car last year and fell in love right away. There is so much space inside and plenty of trunk/hatchback room for our dog as well. We love the design of the interior and exterior and the roof racks are an added bonus! It is a comfortable ride (even in the back seat!) and id fantastic for taking long trips. The individual climate control, heated seats, back up camera and the push button rear lift gate are some of my favorite features. I would buy another one when mine is paid for, best car I have ever owned. Could have better gas milage but its a big car and 6 cylinder engine so it is right about where you would expect, about 10 km/100 L. Only complaint is that the small rear windows in the very back dont open. This would be a nice feature for my dog :)

This suv is the best on the market. I will never own a different suv. The ride and the preformance is second to none. The power and the comfort is awesome if you want sporty and classy this is the suv you should look at. The interior is so roomy and the panels are easy to navigate. The sharp features and the body design are second to none.

My husband bought 2007 Subaru Forester that was blue with a beige interior and had awesome reviews. The right price and a good looking car to boot! Well, shortly after buying it, everything that could go wrong did. It had the transmission go out, the catalytic converter, you name it it happened. It fell apart so badly that he couldn't even sell it for a good price. We had to sell it to a mechanic as a "shell", as in car body but not working, for a whopping $200. And he maintained the heck out of it with a reputable mechanic! You would think if you stayed on top of the maintenance it would be okay; well, not with this car! He spent about $5000 buying it and then he spent about $3000 repairing it. And then, a ton of other things went out and the cost to fix it is over $4000! Ridiculous! I was still attached to the car because of its looks and thought I had myself a lemon the first time. I found one in mint condition, that looked just like the first one I had and thought about buying it. Then I read that they had fixed everything that I had! Plus some! The engine had been replaced! Red flag! I had to replace mine, too, and it only had 130,000 miles! Stay away! Find yourself another car! Don't be suckered in by its looks, it will make you sorry and broke!

We are very pleased with this vehicle. We now have 60,000 km on the car. We have found it to be a comfortable ride - and the luggage capacity is all we need for our road trips. We do have snow tires installed for Canadian winters - and have been happy with the way the vehicle performs on snow. Our initial concern about a smaller 4 cyl engine rather than a 6 was unfounded - and we are pleased with the increased fuel economy. When the lease ends, we plan to lease another.

Oh man i love this car ! this is a really nice car that have a pretty good comfort. The performance is also really good but what i love the most is the exterior styling !

This is the jack of all cars and is exceptionally reliable. I purchased my 2007 Forester in 2014 with 90K, one owner and in beautiful condition, a deal I couldn't pass up. I have owned it 3 years and it now has 160K and I have had no issues with it. What are the chances of buying a 7 year old car, adding 70,000km and have nothing break. There is also no rust to be found anywhere on the body. This has been the most reliable car I have ever owned. It is also a car that does everything. AWD for bad weather, 28mpg average, roof racks for my toys, hitch and enough power to tow my bigger toys, huge trunk for moving or road trips, reliable and easy on my pocket book. What more could somebody ask for in a vehicle. I was already a fan of Subaru before I bought this car but after owning one for 3 years I feel my next car down the road will also be a Subaru.

My experience with this car has been fantastic. Features are great handling comfort and most importantly looks! Superb stick shift and very ergonomic clutch pedal and can effortlessly switch gears with it. over all this car is amazing and I give it a 5-star review.

Great car. Still going strong @ 350,000km! Decent gas mileage and awesome AWD is great in the winter months.

I have driven this Subaru for nine years and, it still rides as smooth as the day we bought her home.My Subaru is easy on Gas,not a guzzler like some mobiles I've owned.In all the nine years we've had this SUV,she has cost us next to pennies.A great SUV with lots of spacious room to sit comfortably,also excellent for anyone who has a large Family to take them fishing or camping.There is a hitch behind for a Camper.,great for those who love camping or just taking long rides in the country.My favorite thing about the Subaru Forrester is that it's great on and off the road.With the four wheel drive,I haven't got stuck in the snow once.It is a very dependable vehicle that will get you to where ever you want to go.Nothing like it.

I always feel safe in a Suburu. Great pick up, lots of room for a compact car and very smooth, comfortable ride. Highway driving is a little noisy and as a front seat passenger the locking seat belt is annoying but otherwise we have had a great experience with the car. No repairs needed in the 5 years we have owned it.

This car is very fun to drive. It's all wheel drive system is perfect for Canadian winters and it's turbo charged engine is a great summer thrill. The bucket seats are fairly comfortable and the backseat has enough room for two adults to sit comfortable. This car is very reliable as are all Subarus. It is not uncommon for a Subaru Impreza to surpass 300,000 KM and still run great. I would highly recommend this vehicle!

My Dad bought the car all the way back in 2006 after he got a bonus. Then in 2013 he "gave" it to me. (had to share with my siblings meh!)

For the first 3 years of have my first ride, the car was amazing. The engine sounded great, the AWD was perfect for Winter and the fuel economy was even better than my mother's new Tiguan.

But now, its an 11 year old car. The problems are starting to show up regularly and I'm already $ 5k in repairs this year.

I think it is time to let it go, but I'm not going to abandon the Subaru brand just yet.

This AWD car drives and handles very well in all weather conditions. Drives like it is on rails when cornering. Seating is comfortable with all controls within easy reach.
