2011 Nissan Altima

Trim: 2.5S Extra
by Great_Big_Abyss on 06-01-2015
This car does most things right.
We bought this car used in 2014 and have owned it for a year now. Ours is the 2.5S with the extra package, including sunroof, 16" alloys, spoiler, deep tinted windows, and heated seats.

Equipment-wise, I'm surprised the car doesn't include Bluetooth. While you can get it on the SL, it really should be on the lower models, too. The lack of a USB port is disappointing, too. The car has an AUX jack, but it means you need to play with your phone to change songs, which can be distracting.

While styling is subjective, I have to say the exterior styling is easily my favorite part of this car. Ours is black, and with the spoiler and factory tint, the car just looks epic. A year later I still find myself doing the 'look back'. A few minor issues, there are some small rust spots starting on the roof and the door pillars.

Performance is adequate. It IS only a 4-cylinder, but it's a strong motor, if a little coarse. The 2.5 certainly isn't Honda smooth, but it's acceptable. The CVT is a perfectly acceptable transmission. I don't understand why journalists always badmouth CVT's, because this one is a pleasure to drive.

If driven economically, I can see 7.5-8.5L/100kms in the city, and 6.9-7.3L/100kms on the highway. When my wife drives (leadfoot) consumption goes up to 9.5L/100kms city.

We installed Blizzaks on this car this winter and had absolutely zero issues with snow and ice here in Winnipeg.

This car performs as our family vehicle, and is our only car for a family of 4 (including toddler). I wouldn't hesistate recommending this car to anyone who wants good, reliable family transportation, and who doesn't want a CUV or mini-van.

longtime fan of Altima
This has been my 3rd straight fleet car as an Altima and this one was the best yet, very comfy, seems to fit like a glove, sporty, peppy, stylish, good visibility, just enough luxury features with leather seats, heated, keyless ignition, large trunk, great radio and sound system, 2.5L is perfect size engine for car, great in winter snow with winter tires, easy on gas.

Love this car
Truly a great driving, practical car. Very engaging when desired and comfortable for day to day. The 3.5S version has some nice features not found on the 2.5S version and the performance and features are well worth the small fuel efficiency drop.

Amassing vehicle
Equipped with the identical 175-hp, 180-lb-ft/torque 2.5-liter inline four-cylinder engine (I4) as its lower-level siblings, the 2010 Altima 2.5 SL delivers 23/32 mpg under the management of its standard continuously variable transmission (CVT).

Altima driving review
Good on gas and very powerful for a four cylinder engine. Sporty exterior design and comfortable interior seat. Made of quality, reliable vehicle, which does not need special maintenance other than regular oil change.

Amazing Altima
This car has it all except the Nav package. Gas mileage is excellent, the ride is great, some road noise, minimal. Comfort is relaxing, lots of leg room. The oly draw back inn our opinion are the trunk hinges, they reduce the space available still room for 4 sets of clubs and a couple of bags.

2011 Nissan Altima

Sporty and sexy but not much room in the back
What I like about this car:

Very fuel efficient in either hybrid or four-cylinder configurations
Handles very well
The interior is comfortable yet elegantly simple

What rubs me the wrong way:
Backseat area is very cramped
The keyless ignition system is MANDATORY
The hybrid power train is a little wobbly in highway conditions

Terrific Ride
I bought this car brand new from the dealership. The car is greater and has a lot of features. I found all the features very useful; heated seats, heater side view mirrors, wireless key entry, push to start ignition, and especially the full size tire spare.

It's a terrific drive!
I like how powerful is that car... When my parents bought that car I was like, OH NOOO! not a grand-parents car, but I change my argument fast when I try it first time. Great fuel economy, great look and powerful!

Nice
Very nice car. But the price should show off a little more. Come on Nissan, more reliability. Looks very nice though with it's nice detailed trim. I could just stare at my car for hours :D but again, GOR 50 GRAND, come on Nissan

Simple and Comfortable
Simple and comfortable inside. I rented this vehicle on a business trip and was not surprised that it was a smooth drive.

I didn't get to drive the sporty coupe version...I was in a sedan but I still feel like I had enough power for my liking, I was able to pass with ease on the highway and get a quick start at stop lights.

Fueling up was not painful either...it was relatively efficient.

Nissan Altima
If you're looking for a car that isn't flashy but performs well then the 2011 Altima is the one.

I've had this car for a year and while the interior won't blow you away, it's performance and handling are great and remind you why you purchased an Altima.

For those who like to judge a book by it's cover (ahem my wife)...the exterior is nice and looks sporty. Furthermore, for a true mid-size sedan, it has a full size feel to it. I have a 4 cylinder but it has a lot of pep to it.

No complaints here.
