Mazda Miata MX-5 1990-2017Change

I think the car is very affordable and definitely needs more recognition. The outside is decent but the inside is absolutely beautiful. I really love this car because of it's space and that you can actually bend down the seats to make more space for the trunk. Also something to note, I love the leather dashboard it has an amazing feel to it and the design of this interface is just fabulous. And finally, this car is a total beauty when it comes to family rides and other things such as road trips and way more things, this car is without a doubt the way to go for new families or just normal people.

Great car for touring the countryside....Fun and exhilerating. Peppy and quick to respond to the road and hugs the road like a charm. Trunk is spacious as is the interior.......fun fun fun car.... a real head turner.

My 1990 Miata has been more reliable than most newer cars I have owned and is tons of fun to drive, especially on those curvy country roads. Parts are cheap and readily available and makes a great project car as everything in the engine bay is open and accessible. Always get stares and has not failed to put a smile on anyone that has taken a ride in the car. Highly recommended.

Bought a used 2008 and have a perma smile on my face! Great value and just enough power to zip around tight corners! Very stable and well made. I am quite happy with this purchase!

this car is the last year for the na (first generation) and is a blast to drive. maintenance is very reasonable and parts are easy to locate.

Amazing fun to drive in the summer with the top down. Looks so good you get many positive comments from the public.

I have never had a serious problem with this car other than your regular maintenence. I get great gas mileage on the highway, and just as good in the city. The miata is great for mountain driving.

Problem free runs like new. Fun to drive and the easiest shifter ever. Upgraded interior gets lots of attention and the roll bar actually improves looks and stiffness of the ride. .................

With 50K km, this car has been cheap to maintain with only oil changes and one set of tires. Dealer service has been excellent and reasonably priced. The engineering that went into this car is what convinced me to buy it over a Honda S2000. It also has an excellent reliability/resale record. I'm always amazed how comfortable it is for its size and how well it rides. I never feel beat up on long drives. Road noise can get tiring if you travel a long period on 4 lane highways but 2 lanes are just fine. With 170hp it has the perfect amount of power to have fun without putting your licence at risk every time you drive it. Gas mileage is good for a sports car. The MX5 Miata is a real pleasure to own and drive.

I have not had any issues with this convertible. It is dependable, stylish and a fun car to drive. People stop me and ask me what year my car is and you want to see the looks of disbelief on their faces when I tell them its a 2001

The performance and reliability of this car is excellent. It has been driven and maintained by one owner. This car is good on gas. The steering wheel as stick shift is by NARDI.

Mostly used for trips, to the mountains, to the BC interior, to southern Utah, and wherever there are good vindy roads; lots of fun to drive.

I bought it new in 2006 and now have 85,000 km on it. Other than normal maintenance, the only thing I've replaced was one high beam bulb, and the battery. I am very happy with the car and would recommend an MX-5 to anyone.

In February 2000, I retired from teaching after thirty-two years. To launch my new freedom, I bought a Miata 10th Anniversary number 3991 / 7500. This car became a real time machine for me. At sixteen, when I got my driver’s license; I was riding with a friend in his brother’s red MGB. I can still hear the sound of the engine as we sped along Old Hwy17. After raising five kids, the dream window opened. When I saw that blue sports car in the show room and got to drive it, I knew the universe was unfolding as it should. I bought the car! This is no ordinary car. It became my time machine. Behind the wheel of Blue Sky, I got to hear again the music of that engine on Old Hwy17. I had found the time lost! I started going out with my wife Isabelle and enjoying this new freedom in Blue Sky. We were now going to beautiful places and meeting great people that were excited about their lives. Every spring, we looked forward to living new adventures and experiencing fantastic drives with our fellow club members. I really believe that this car makes us feel younger and enjoy life with a different outlook. From day one, I never thought that Blue Sky was perfect. I believed that I could improve on its looks and performance. Blue Sky allows me to express myself in a bold statement. During the long winters when our cars are tucked in, I enjoy having parts sent away to the chrome shop. When they come back all wrapped in brown paper it’s like opening a gift on Christmas morning. I also enjoy fabricating parts for Blue Sky. The joy is always greater when I create a part that is not only beautiful but also unique. When I bought the Miata, my family thought this was frivolous but not me. I knew I was getting a time machine! This machine opened for me the window to time lost, got me closer to my true love and got me excited about my life. As a bonus, it made me feel ten years younger!

Great Summer Fun. Easy and fun to drive. Great fuel economy. Two Seater- No Kids. Good weekend fun car!

In the last 4 years my experience with this sports car has been fantastic.It is a true sports car that will handle very well when pushed to the limit.It is very fuel efficient and has enough power to handle both city and highway driving at any legal speed limit.
The 6 speed automatic transmission with sport mode and paddle shifters on the steering wheel does not detract from the enjoyment of driving a sports car since the shifts are very quick and acceleration from start is quick.The GT model comes with comfortable leather seats and is fully loaded with most options.
The Power Retractable Hardtop is fantastic , quick and does not take away any room from the trunk.Reliability of this car has been well above average and I have had no warranty work done in the last 4 years.
If you are looking for a fun and reliable convertible sports car, you can't go wrong with the MX-5.
My only negative comment is that the cost of this car in Canada is a lot greater( + $ 10,000) than in the USA with no logical reason to back this up.Still this car is thousands of dollars cheaper than high end sports cars which may not give you any more driving pleasure, may not be as reliable and gives you almost no trunk space because of their retractable tops design.

I have had 5 Miatas over the past 15 years, each one better than the one before it. That says a lot because the first one, a 1997, was a blast to drive and looked great with the pop-up headlights. Mazda continues to improve the car yet it still retains its "i'm having so much fun" feeling. There's nothing like it.
