I have thoroughly enjoyed owning this car! It comfortably seats 6 adults & it is very fuel efficient, for it's class. It is very reliable, as well.

Fun family vehicle to drive
A perfect compromise between a sports car & a minivan. Sharp sporty look with minivan conveniences. 4 cyl. engine makes for great fuel economy and 5-speed transmission makes for a fun ride! Sports car feel that seats 6!

2008 Mazda Mazda5

Versatile comfort
We bought a Mazda5 because, with a family of 4, it gives us extra space when we need it. It drives well, holding to the road and accelerating well. We've gotten better gas mileage than we would have gotten if we had bought a minivan but not as good as other family cars. Road noise is noticeable but not unbearable.

It's a good car, but not great
Enjoy the storage capacity as it can hold four suitcases plus carry on. Pretty good gas mileage. I do a lot of city driving so it's still low mileage and everything is looking and working well.

The stock tires that come with it are garbage. At 50,000km I've already had to replace them.

It's also a very loud car with a lot of creaks and squeaks.

Handles pretty well.

Overall, it's a good car but I doubt I would buy it again.

2008 Mazda Mazda5

Fun, Family Friendly and Fast
We have a child and were looking for our first car. My first company car was a VW Jetta which provided unreliable and expensive to fix. The Mazda 5 we purchased has proven to be quite the opposite - fun to drive with a little zoooom when you tap the accelerator with masses of room for stoller, food shops and friends.

Not only is it nice to drive and pack in the family but it looks good to. We were interested in purchasing a car that has resale value and after one year our 2008 burgundy Mazda 5 still looks hot on the road.

There isn't one great thing about this car rather it is the total package that is fantastic: good handling, peppy speed, spacious and comfortable, sliding doors for putting in your child into the car safely, great sound system... the list goes on.

I would highly recommend this car to all - even if you don't have a child it is a great car to buy.

Bogus
battery died...next one is dying. my middle seat back is no longer adjustable. floor model does not come with dual climate control but I find that the whole car's interior climate is spotty. had to have the driver's side head lamp checked twice and I think that Mazda service centre replaced my expensive windshield wipers with cheap ones without my knowledge! The back wind screen is expensive to replace but I would have like the option for a split back as that may be easier to grab and go. battery in key fob is wearing out. needs more like USB outlet and rear lighter plug-in. Thank you, so much, for reading! :(

2008 Mazda Mazda5

Very Economical
The fuel economy is what drove me to this car, and I haven't been disappointed. It's no hybrid, or electric car, but the gas guage hardly moves over the 3 hour drives to see family. The two extra seats in the back take away your trunk but I've had average size adults in them with few complaints. It's perfect for moving my little family around, and I'm pretty sure I'll buy the same next time.

Mazda5 - 2008
The versatility of the Mazda5 is the best feature of this car. From transporting people to transporting building materials, bikes, tools, Mazda5 carries it all. Folding 2nd and 3rd row seats allow many interior storage configurations. Optional roof rack has been home to a Thule storage box for extra room. I am tall (6'-5") and i have found this to be a comfortable car - good headroom and seat comfort which is hard to find in smaller vehicles. Performance has been great for day to use. Overall a good choice for anyone.

I would buy this car again
I have found this to be reasonable in its fuel efficiency, and comfortable to drive. I really like being able to reconfigure the cargo area to carry the various things we haul around. We had trouble with the power steering quitting right after our warranty ran out. Apparently this was a well-known problem with our model, and our dealer took care of the problem for us, for no charge. I find it a little hard to parallel park, because it is hard to sense where the corners are. The back windows are not the best for shoulder-checking; I have to be really careful not to cut someone off because I can't see them.

It's worth every penny
The seats are comfortable enough to manage long and short car rides; the only gripe I have about the interior design is about the lack of a passenger armrest. I really don't understand why there isn't one, but it usually is always mentioned in conversation when I'm driving people.

Other than that, it's a smooth ride and looks great both at night and during the day. The headlights provide optimal visibility so I never have any problem with sight or animals at night.

Peppy 5
I think it's a very sporty "mini" van. Handles like a car and has seating for 6, whats not to like? The millage is a lot better that SUV or bigger vans so it is a nice compromise for getting the 6th passenger seat.

Plenty of room for a family of 4
We have been really pleased with the comfort and practicality of the Mazda5. There is a ton of space for 4 passengers (2 in carseats) plus cargo (stroller(s), diaper bag, wagon and so on). There is also the option to expand with a roof rack and storage unit (sold separately). The fuel economy is solid, we usually get low 30's MPG overall between city and highway driving. The 2.2L 4-cyl has a lot of pep as this is a relatively light vehicle and getting up to speed on the highway is not a problem. Leather wrapped steering wheel plus steering wheel mounted volume and cruise control make for nice options to have. The voice recognition/hands-free feature is somewhat primitive compared to Ford's SYNC system, but it is a 2008 and frankly any system I've tried is inferior to SYNC. Overall a nice family vehicle.
