A comfortable car
I have driven this car for 3 years and been happy with it. It's a real luxury car. It is a fantastic ride and very comfortable. Best car I ever owned fit and finish is great. If you are looking a car that handles and performs well for the price, then this is the car for you.

Impressed!
I traded in my Audi for this car and I have to admit I was impressed!!!

The interior is really spacious and looks sleek with wooden panels. The exterior of this car is actually really nice. The paint is premium and the wheels are large for a family car.

It has a beast under the hood! It has amazing acceleration, better than my Audi. Really impressive handling through sharp corners and feels really light.

However be careful, it is expensive to maintain. It eats premium gas very quickly and the repairs are enormous. I started having lots of engine problems around 190,000km and these problems were too expensive to fix. Even the light bulbs in this car are expensive (Xenon lights).

2001 Infiniti I

Trim: I30

Its like a senior Scion FR-S
This is a fun car.

Fun Factor / Performance Feel
-The car (the older years) are not too heavy, yet it has a higher than average performance engine.
-This gives it a better power to weight ratio.
-Meaning it accelerates very well (especially compared to stuff at this used price range).

Handling
-Average, however this leads to a challenging situation since it accelerates better than an average car.
-For 'passive' drivers this will not be an issue (but why would you buy this over a Camry if you drive in a passive way?)
-For 'aggressive' drivers this will be fun but you can easily find yourself in tricky situations, it depends how you want to look at this.

Reliability
-Its above average (its a Nissan)

Overview
Its a fun car, gives more :) smiles :) per dollar since its more fun than the heavier new cars out there but you have to be careful for the same reason.

2001 Infiniti I

Looks can be deceiving
The I30 is not a car that is going to get you noticed. I'll be the first to say that it has the style impact of Grandpa's cardigan (and in fact you'll see quite a few grandpas driving these). But don't let the mild-mannered looks fool you...there is something more going on behind the sedate exterior.

It's a mid-sized 4 door sedan but I feel like it handles like a much smaller car. It seems to me that Infiniti has focused more on creating high-performing cars over luxury appointments (vs. say Lexus). That being said, the Bose sound system & the leather in the I30 are both top-notch. Three people can ride comfortably in the back and it features a good-sized trunk (I've done several moves with this car so I can testify to it's large storage capacity!)

I like the fact that I have the power (the engine is a V6 with 230 hp) to pass when I need to. Although it can be a bit sluggish in downshifting when going up a steep hill. My I30 is over a decade old and I've had minimal issues with it. Last repair was an ignition switch replacement about 2 years ago so I'd say reliability is great. Gas consumption is OK given the size of the car.

Overall, if you want a flashy car don't bother, but if you want a dependable car with understated luxury & good performance the I30 is a great option
