1998 Honda Civic

It's okay as a beginner car
As the years went on there seems to be more and more problems with it from the ac not working to various issues with the engine. Start up with this car is slow and takes a while for it to pick up speed.

Great Old Honda Civic
I bought my Honda Civic from my uncle who used it to travel to and from work. I had ti for two years. It was very good to me. It had a green exterior and grey interior. The trunk space was great. I travel a lot with my home business and I always had enough room.

It was comfortable and great on gas, especially for being an older car. I found you needed to make sure you changed the oil every 5000 km.

Unfortunately, I had trouble with the car and it got scrapped because the repairs were too costly. It had over 300,000 km on it before this happened. It was a great car and I would get an older Honda Civic again.

nice beater
great old car -- you only have to watch out for rust on the bodies. But these old babies just keep on going. Very reliable and handles well in the winter too. The engines are good for 3-400k. I wonder if the new Civics will last in this way......

It's a fairly good car
It gets great gas mileage, but it seems like when one thing goes wrong, everything else follows. It's always something that can't wait. Like the tie rods, cv joints, ect. The motor in it is great and would run forever almost. It has lots of power. These cars are bad for rusting out around the rear wheel wells. They will rust all the way through if you dont take care of them

It's a Great Car
Its a very reliable car. I haven't replaced much in it considering its age. Its an older style car and I have only owed it for a year. I have always wanted a Honda because of its reliability, but I didn't relies how reliable of a car they are. I would highly recommend a honda to anyone.

Best Birthday Gift Ever
I leased to buy a 1998 Honda Civic as a 40th birthday gift to myself. It was a fantastic little car: excellent gas mileage, no engine problems, handled and accelerated beautifully. Was very easy to park; had substantial legroom in the front and back, and had ample trunk space. The resale value on this car was also very high. Wonderful car. I would recommend it to anyone.

a good and reliable car
I started to learn how to drive on this car. I would call this car a real working horse. It's reliable, it obeys the driver very well, it doesn't need much fuel and all in all it's a efficient car. It's not very big and I personally like to have more space - in the interior and in the trunk. But for everyday use it would be a nice, reliable car.

An all around performer that satisfy every need!
I have had this vehicle for over 14 years, with a 5-speed manual transmission.

The interior design is adequate given the age and price range of the vehicle, but what it excelled at was the use of space in the cabin and in the trunk. This is by no means a big car but it provides ample head and leg room for all passengers, both front and back, making for a comfortable ride.

The trunk is a piece of work, it's deceptive how much you can stuff in there: 2 golf bags and 2 handcarts, or 1 large and 2 medium size luggages.

Fuel economy wise, it averages 14 km per litre, considering the age of the vehicle, it's not bad. On the performance side, it's satisfatory considering my vehicle is a 5-speed, but it tends to labour a bit (on the low speed end) when it has a fully load of passengers.

With regular maintenace, the vehicle has been free of problem and is still running strong.

Probably still on the road somewhere
What a great car. Cherry red. Ran like a top. Totally dependable. Sold it and I bet it's still on the road somewhere. it was a great, fuel efficient car and by all accounts the Honda Civic remains not only one of the best values on the road, but goes like heck, handles sturdy, is nice to look at and you feel pretty darn good sitting in it to. A manufacturing marvel. Well done Honda.

Most reliable car I've driven
This was my car from the end of high school through university. I worked as a delivery driver and put a lot of time and kilometres on the engine, and even now, 7 years later, it's still going strong. By far, the most reliable car I've driven and the easiest and cheapest to maintain. It's bare-bones, feature and comfort-wise, but it stands the test of time.

Love This Car!
We have a 1998 Honda Civic in our family. Sure, she's a little old. And yes, she has a few bumps and scrapes and her paint is chipping off here and there. But inside, she is as strong as she was 14 years ago. I LOVE this Civic.

It is a zippy car. It has incredible pick up and It also handles well and really hugs the curves.

The interior is basic and meets the needs of driver and passenger but what is outstanding is the fuel economy (this baby goes a long time between fill ups) the powerful engine-No fear when my lane ends, and the reliability-over 14 years old and still going strong!

I love driving our Civic and hope she last another 14 years!

Civic reliability
Hard to find any obvious faults with the engineering of this machine. Unbelievebaly cheap to own. It certainly doesn't have the luxury and technological gadgets that a 2012 has..but we have owned this thing for 11 years... gas, oil brakes, battery Driven it across the country...it owes us nothing. Still zips around town with pep and is the reason so many are still on the road today. Thought about replacing it but as a day to day grocery getter its' tops... The SUV with leather and sunroof sits in the driveway more than the civic.
