Ford Focus 2004Change

My parents bought this car around 2008 and I got it a couple years later. The vehicles interior is rather nice, the model I had included leather seats and the front ones were heated with the push of a button. My only issue with the interior was that after about 2012 (which to be fair, was when the car was 8 years old) the cars leather seats began to finally crack and dry out. The plastic knobs which controlled the a/c, sunroof, lights, etc. began to look worn out around the 8 year mark as-well. Around 2012 I'd say there was about 200,000 KM (or 124,274 Miles) on it, is when you could really begin to notice the interior wearing out.
The Ford Focus's biggest issue by far was its horrendous wiring. The wiring had been an issue since my family had acquired the station wagon back in 2008. The hatch on the back would frequently fail the latch closed. Close it too hard, it would bounce back up slightly and not close, too light and it would not close, even if you closed it properly it still might not close. Worst of all was that back in 2015, the wiring in hatch got frayed and worn out at the joint where the hatch pivots on. This caused (somehow) the hatch to open itself whenever the brakes got pressed. This is because the wiring to pop open the hatch and the wiring for the brake lights run through the same small joint to reach the hatch itself. Another thing that gave me grief was the ABS system. In order to fix the ABS target on these station wagons, you have to take apart the wheel baring with a hydraulic press. It is a nightmare to do. Another thing was the sunroof, when ever I'd go to close it, the thing would close about half way and then stop, and then open again. But then I'd press the button to close it the second time and it would close fully. Finally, the alternator always seemed to be breaking down on this thing every 3 years or so, I would also change the battery at this time as-well.
Despite some issues, it was a pretty good car that lasted 13+ years.

seriously the best car i have ever owned if i could get a brand new one i would do this all over again this car died at 400,000 km and i miss it so much no performance problems at all legit. i swapped vehicles not by choice and worst thing i ever had to do legit nothing but good to say about this car. standard was fantastic in snow and just such a good car.

but the car second hand. had a few small problems with it but overall have been happy with it..over 200,000 kms on it's still going strong

good car , not to espansive to run, good fuel economy but not the best, . I still have the original transmission and clutch so good transmission. I have the ZX5 version great look the only minus is : when i want to drop the back sit to have a larger trunk you always have to advance the front sit and take off the head protection of your back sit first. they should have made this easier to drop the back sit.

Great car for the first few years, but the back end rotted right out after about 6 years. The mechanic said he sees this often in the early models of the focus. If you have extra cash to replace the parts, it's a great car. But not really built for longevity.

I have had very few problems. For a car that is now 13 years old, it has been very durable and reliable. Fuel economy has been great, both highway and city driving. Would recommend this car to anyone.

reliable, comfortable, very good gas mileage, the traction control works well in snow and muddy roads front tires work independently.

This car looks great, is fun to drive and is very spacious. The focus wagon is also very reliable and reasonable to repair. Great Car!

With blasting sound, open windows and sunroof, riding in GTA and the wind blasting in... Really nice to be in this mini sport style car! Handled dirt, snow, trails without ever getting stuck. True action considering its age.

I have been using this ride since almost 5 years now and didn't have to change any pieces or ALMOST any pieces yet !! It is almost at its 300 000th km and it is still in good shape and running pretty good on long rides ! The fuel economy is not that bad but i think it's in the average !

Was a sunny day went looking for a new Ford truck, thought the Ford Focus was a sweet style and big enough to do the work I need it too.

I have had this car for almost a year now and I have had no problems what so ever! It's also pretty comfortable and rides good. Overall, its very reliable.

I have had this car for awhile now, it always has something little wrong with it, I had to change the tires multiple times throughout the years. Somethings it wouldnt start, but the fuel economy is excellent.

Has been the best car we have owned. Wish the mileage was better but other than that great car. We have not had to do much for repairs other than regular maintenance. We originally bought this car hoping to get good mileage but it has but been just average. I would love to get the newer model of focus as they get alot better mileage i just hope the quality is as good as this one.

Reliable, safe ride that is great for a young family. Back seat is roomy enough to put rear and front facing car seats in easily. Good amount of trunk space, plenty for even the largest stroller.

If you have a young family and are looking for a good car for city driving, then the Ford Focus is the car for you! Peppy, roomy enough for two car seats and decent gas economy.

My car is the station wagon XTW model. It's reliable and as its a model with a stronger horse-powered engine it has some real pick up. I also appreciate the extra traction control feature on those snowy days and certainly enjoy my sun roof and the heated leather seats as well. It also has one of the largest interior hauling capacity of pretty much any vehicle smaller than a van. I have hauled a twin sized mattress, a small Ikea loveseat, various chairs and the purchases of 4 ladies on a series shopping road trip.

I sincerely wish Ford would reintroduce the wagon as I truly would like to replace my car with more of the same when the time comes.

takes 50.00 to fill and can go a week going back and forth from fort erie to St.Cath. every day Highway realy like this car for that and has servising every 2 months from the time that I got it. must go to something bigger as family has grown

I bought this car because it looked sporty and out of the options I had at that time, this was the most appealing. This is the first Ford I buy and so far so good despite the jokes people make about the Ford quality. Although this is not a top of the line vehicle, it does the job and with minimum maintenance. No issues so far. I only wish the brakes were more powerful and the steering was softer.

basically a good car, problems with always needing a wheel allignment or it feels like you are swerving all over the road.
