Acura TL 2000Change

Bought the 3.2 TL new in 2000 and paid cash - Honda replaced the transmission at 50km , at 296km transmission started to slip and based on service history dealer and Honda picked up 2/3 cost (while out of warranty) and I was out a mere $1.4k. Aside from transmission, std service, a few ball joints and wheel bearings she rides as well at the current 475 km (yes I said 475 km) as she did the day we first kissed. These cars have incredible acceleration, comfort, classic look, and durability. Maintaining vs buying/leasing new ever four years has saved me about $140k. In my definition of quality (price, performance, longevity) Honda/Acura can't be beat.

Drove this car as the second owner to 340K. It gave me no problems. The only thing is that it is not very fuel efficient, but besides that its a great ride.

I loved this car and drove it everyday, it is spacious and comfortable at the same time. The 3.2L v6 engine gives great power and is a thrill to drive everyday.

I bought this car new and had it for 13 years. Recently sold it after a transmission rebuild. Transmission problem is common with this model year. Besides the transmission problem, everything was good. Powerful and smooth V6 engine and great handling. Very spacious interior and a lot of trunk space. However, I found the brake is a bit under power considering the engine power and weight of the car.

Besides the transmission problem, everything was great and reliable with this model year. The V6 engine is very powerful and handling is good. I found the brake is a little under power considering the power and weight of the vehicle.

After 13 years and 396,000 kms, I still hate to see this car go. I've had very little problems with it, given the kms traveled. It still rides very well and goes like "stink".
I like this car so much, I have ordered a new one - same color!!

very smooth ride, luxury interior, more than enough power. rock steady. I've had the car for over 12 years and never had any problems with it.

Great car, got 230,000km before the transmission died for the second time (rebuilt at 160,000km), Acura put an inferior transmission in these cars so expect at least one rebuild in its lifetime. Engine still runs strong, never had any engine problems. Decent on gas given its a V6/ 230hp. With leather seats and all the trimmings its an affordable luxury sedan with a sports car feel.

This is good car in all sides performance, styling, is very good! But all acuras 1999-2003 had a trouble from manufacturer. It 's a problem with automatic transmission. This acura had a ATF filter, in transmission, and, if you change the fluid atf, you can' t change this filter without open cover of transmission. If don't change this filter, your transmission will be cracked

Takes you around in comfort and style, but when challenged you will take the lead. My favourite thing about this car is its many uses.... It has a spacious interior and big boot the ride is smooth but handles like a dream it is so quite inside except if you put your foot down it allows just enough engine noise to put a smile on your face :)

I love this car like my wife never gave me a problem starts every time like it was the first time i would drive this car across the world and not worry

I have had nothing but success with this car, other than the regular maintenance this vehicle has never given me any problems. For the 3.2 V6 engine it has, the fuel economy is rather surprising, achieving over 500 km's each tank.
Comfort is high, with good quality leather, stereo components, and lumbar support this car is awesome for trips.
Ride quality is OK, might have expected more from a luxury car maker like Acura, but all in all I give this vehicle a 4 out of 5.
