For 2008, the Toyota Sienna minivan receives traction and vehicle stability control as standard equipment across all models; as well, two models are added which are specially ordered from the factory as mobility vehicles.
All Sienna models use a 3.5-litre V6, mated to a five-speed automatic transmission. Driveline choices are front- or all-wheel drive, while seating configurations are seven- or eight-passenger. All-wheel models come standard with 17-inch alloy wheels regardless of the trim line.
Features on the CE models include 16-inch steel wheels, dual sliding doors, CD/MP3 stereo with auxilliary jack, air conditioning, fabric seats, stowable split third-row seats, power locks with keyless entry, conversation mirror, power windows, side window defoggers, tilt and telescopic wheel, floor mats, cruise control, heated mirrors, swing-out quarter windows, roof rack, variable intermittent wipers, and intermittent rear washer/wiper. The eight-passenger CE model adds power flip-out rear quarter windows.
The LE models add 16-inch alloy wheels, four-wheel disc brakes, premium cloth seats, power driver's seat, outside temperature gauge, front centre console box, power sliding doors, garage door opener, coloured mirrors and fog lamps.
The XLE comes only in AWD for regular models (the FWD version is mobility only), and adds 17-inch alloy wheels, six-CD/MP3 stereo with auxiliary jack, dual-zone automatic climate control, heated leather seats, power passenger seat, auto-dimming rearview mirror, leather-wrapped wheel, laser cruise control, power liftgate, 115-volt power outlet, rear window sunshade, power-folding mirrors with auto-dimming driver's side, memory, integrated turn signals and puddle lamps, power sunroof and spoiler.
The last full-size minivan to still offer all-wheel drive, the Sienna is smooth and quiet, and very well-finished; in quality and features, it's closest to the Honda Odyssey, and for most buyers it will probably come down to brand preference. The option of ordering a mobility vehicle through the factory should also appeal to buyers who require a vehicle for special needs.
