Subaru ups the Outback's game for 2013 with a heavily facelifted model featuring a new front fascia, chassis improvements, and added tech in the form of Subaru's EyeSight Driver Assist system. An improved 2.5L BOXER four-cylinder also makes its way under the hood.

Two engine options are available with the Outback, along with a choice of three transmissions:

- 2.5L DOHC horizontally opposed 4-cylinder SUBARU BOXER engine with 173 hp and 174 lb-ft of torque, mated to either a 6-speed manual or Lineartronic CVT automatic

- 3.6L 6-cylinder SUBARU BOXER engine with 256 hp and 247 lb-ft of forque, mated to a 5-speed automatic transmission with manual mode

Trims for the Outback include 2.5i Convenience, 2.5i Convenience with PZEV Option, 2.5i Touring Package, 2.5i Limited Package, 3.6R, 3.6R Limited Package, and 3.6R Limited Package with EyeSight Option. All trims come with all-wheel drive.
