Gentler kinder Legacy GT
A friend of mine had a use Legact GT that was very unrefined. The ABS jack hammered and the turbo lag was high. This generation of Legacy however was the first one that had a an overall very refined drivability to it. The AWD and boxter engine were great for handling and the vehicle was very comfortable all be it not close to the luxury category. I opted for a manual transmission which was very fun to drive. Mileage was quite good given the performance of the vehicle and winter handling was great.

I did stint after with some Audi's which were awesome but the value of the Legacy package brought me back again in 2005.

FUN FUN FUN!!!
This AWD 4dr sedan alhough not very big back in '99 still offered just the right amount of room in the rear seats...much more so than the Impreza models i've owned anyways!

It drove like a dream even though it had more than 240,000kms on it when I purchased it.

This Subaru's AWD really is amazing...rain, snow...doesn't matter. I tried fishtailling this car time and time again with no success....the feeling of control is second to none. As good as Audi but a fraction of the price!

Totally LOVED this car!

No frills AWD
This was my second Legacy GT. The revised styling since my 90's vintage was a significant improvement in my view compared to the previous version. Even today when I see them on the highway I prefer this body design to the current Legacy's. The interior was comfortable but definitely no frills. Very smooth engine and permanent AWD made this a great Canadian winter car. The price also was hard to beat for the total package. I found it to be a very reliable car that had very good mileage on the highway and decent handling.
